We should call it what it is, Fascism. We should also be calling out our Fascist politicians by name.
Sen Rob Wagner, Rep Andrea Salinas, and, of course, #KateKorrupt!!

I watched Fox12 coverage of today's rally in Salem and was less than thrilled when they talked about the bill's "student" sponsors. The coverage stated the politicians received "threats" and the "students" names were withheld and only their knees and wringing hands were shown because they were afraid that they also may receive "threats" also.
They did however have audio of them saying they wrote SB501 so they would feel safe at school.
Huh-WHAT???
Your fears do not supplant my rights. EVER
As posted earlier, this needs to be watched very, very closely. They will use these kids(puppets) in an to attempt generate the sympathy/emotional vote.
This is an often played card...provoke people, and when they react (see, threats are being made!!) label them as dangerous/violent and use that to perpetuate your position in the need to keep people safe. It's a snowball.
Maybe they're realizing that allowing kids to write legislation isn't the best idea. Tho Its unlikely they didn't have help and it allows the politicians to shield themselves if it goes sideways. 'Oh, they're just kids...'. But you can bet if this looks like it'll pass, there'll be some libiots sweeping in to take the credit.
This better be a d@mn loud wake up call to alotta law abiding gun owners in OR.
Boss
I think they would categorize the trip that one fella made to Sen Wagner's house as a threat. They have very sensitive feelings you know. It wouldn't surprise me if he request LEO protection and receives it.I agree 100% I'm sure that if they were threatened there dumb enough to think the person doing so would only have 5 rounds .I think the threat thing was another leftist lie
Not that it would do any good but I would like to see some "kids" write a rebuke of this legislation. I would especially like to see some representation from our youngest soldiers who are protecting our rights, from young parents who are protecting their families, young sportsman who are playing by the rules, etc. Young people of OR where are you?
I think local media would cover it at least short term as they did the pro 2A events at the schools last year. The problem is the kids promoting the events were not engaged for a long term protest. They might have went back to playing their video games? While that seems like a good idea, you can damm well bet the media will never cover it! Look what happened to the kids in Florida who came forward and said "don't blame the shooting at their school on guns, blame the shooter"! They got 1 day of coverage and not heard from again!
How about we just keep kids out of politics period! They are in school to learn, not write laws that our idiotic politicians try to pass!

Edit: My reference to "kids" in this comment is referring to the 18 to 20 year old residents of this State.
It doesn't help that most of these youngsters are willingly and even gladly giving up these rights. They are the future voters and will certainly doom the constitution as we know it.The cowardly politicians are using children too young to vote, own a gun, sign legal documents, ect. They are literally chumming the waters for "feel good" voters to break the law by agreeing to pass something illegal into law.
As a bonus, these same kids won't ever have their full rights as Americans at age 18 or 21 because those 2A rights will be gone before this group comes of age. It's a win, win for the gun grabbers. In Oregon that could be thousands they will never have to worry about.
Protests are great but keep in mind, if you talk to the media, they will spin whatever you say and make you look like a fool or bad guy, they are not on our side. Lawmakers don't care about phone calls or letters, they are appealing to their base. They have an agenda and are going to implement it, if they can.
We have constantly been on the defensive, trying to defend our constitutionally guaranteed rights for decades now. I believe what we need is a truce with the left. Obviously they are in no mood for that, so we need to make a ridiculous over the top attack on things that are important to them, until they beg for peace. So what is important to the left? 1) marijuana 2) abortion 3) LGBT things 4) handouts 5) illegal immigration 6) voter ID
We need to make an all out attack on these issues, and more if anyone can think of something, and really give the left something to worry about and put them on the defensive. The whole marijuana thing should be the easiest, its already federally illegal, so maybe we can invite the feds to crackdown on marijuana in states that attack the second amendment.
I agree, the yellow vest protest in France supposedly involved many different groups of people who were unhappy with goverment actions. I am not sure we have the same discontent here but I am all ears on how you think pro 2A groups could coalesce with other varied interest groups against the portion of goverment who intends to strip away our gun rights.I think instead of protesting pro gun we should be protesting the fascist politicians for being un American and for promoting anti Constitutional laws.
There is a growing culture in support of banning free speech and other constitutional rights.
We could get many more people on board with an approach that isn't solely about guns.
The rule of law is being unfairly applied and we need a larger base.

It's like your contractor saying "Forget hiring an architect, my kid drew this plan, so we will just build off of that."
