There was a story out last week that the democrat progressives in Seattle were creating a tax of $500 a year on companies that turned $20,000,000 a year in business for each person that said company employs. Amazon has 47,000 employees so $500 tax for each employee is a pretty stiff tax. Do the dems want to drive business out of the state of Washington like Oregon has or what? Managed decline will turn us just like Venezuela

I have to go into the Demokratik Peoples' Republik of Seattle for medical treatment. At the James St. on ramp there is an infestation of bums that grows, festers, and metastasizes every time I go through there. The real insanity is that playing Santa Claus for legions of reeking derelicts, lunatics, and drunks will just draw more of the same like the scavengers. What really surprises me is that we haven't heard about any of them being struck by bottles and other projectiles from passing cars.

"We are disappointed by today's City Council decision to introduce a tax on jobs. While we have resumed construction planning for Block 18, we remain very apprehensive about the future created by the council's hostile approach and rhetoric toward larger businesses, which forces us to question our growth here. City of Seattle revenues have grown dramatically from $2.8 billion in 2010 to $4.2 billion in 2017, and they will be even higher in 2018. This revenue increase far outpaces the Seattle population increase over the same time period. The city does not have a revenue problem – it has a spending efficiency problem. We are highly uncertain whether the city council's anti-business positions or its spending inefficiency will change for the better."

The City of Seattle should have just stayed fing with the individual people taxes and fees. Nobody cares up there when all the employees are taxed and they complain. But you f with the companies themselves and they complain and people listen. We will see if Microsoft, Boeing and others who really pay some wages up there say anything and show any kind of meaningful business unity or let Amazon carry the water for them.
