Sig Saur P220. Gotta love me some swiss. Plus once I made it along far enough into my military career it was proven to me in some pretty stupid circumstances. Seriously, the thing is about as bulletproof as they get.

Of my current guns I'd keep my Ruger 22/45. It's cheap to shoot and pretty fun. If ammo price wasn't factored in I'd keep my 1911 as my only gun if I had to get rid of the rest. It's just a cheap old Llama Max that I got in trade years ago, but it has never had one issue at all, never.

if I was stranded in a remote area for the rest of my life & could chose only one handgun...

Under those parameters, "remote area rest of life," I'd have to choose one of my .357 magnum revolvers, probably the Taurus 7 shooter. Ammo options and stainless steel are my deciding factors.

These one gun scenarios seem to never die. However, the best handgun is a rifle that does the job at longer range.
