-Bill Clinton lost 52 seats in the House
-Bush lost 30 seats in the House
-Barack Obama lost 70 seats in the House (more than any president since Truman) AND lost 13 senate seats

So look at the bright side, there was no blue wave.

We have the presidency, solidified the hold on the Senate and constitutionalist majority in the SCOTUS with possibly another justice nomination on the way. Trump will stack the courts (look at the nutty 9th). The unhinged Dims are emboldened and will continue to show their true colors via the likes of Pelosi & Waters for the next two years and shoe-in Trump for in 2020.

His version of events amply demonstrate the notion of 'difference of opinion'.

The best the dems could come up with is, we hate Trump and will run counter to all of his policies. They don't bring anything new to the table and enough people bit on that. The dems also put enough money to end homelessness into the candidates they want to run for president in 2020.

In the meantime the PNW will parrot every bad gun grabbing law they can from across the nation. By some small miracle Oregon has outlasted them all.

EDIT: For those who are going to stock up on guns, magazines, etc realize that if the new laws are like IP43 and IP44 the law will require that you register each gun, each magazine, have a BGC, and prove safe storage.

Not sure where we go from here? The State of Oregon has just been handed unchecked power and will certainly use to restrict as many rights as possible.

Buehler was a decidedly lackluster candidate. We need to refrain from crying in our beer, and start organizing NOW. Brown is under investigation for corruption, on several fronts. We need to get involved and push it in any way we can. With a LOT of luck and hard work, we could get her replaced with Dennis Richardson, if he has not succumbed to cancer. We need peaceful protests, town halls with our state reps, call and write state reps, repeatedly, and most of all, develop some energetic and charismatic leaders. We are now, the oppressed, we have rights, and we need to push them! We need to refer to the 2ndA, accurately, as a Civil Right.

The State of Jefferson needs to happen NOW!
All of the ballot measures began with petitions and organization.And they passed-so could the State of Jefferson.
I believe it's a very long shot, but I'm going to be dedicating a lot of my energy toward this goal from here on out.

I refuse to live under the thumb of Socialism/Communism/Nazism, or whatever the correct term of the day is.
I'm old enough to remember the "good old days",and I'm also old enough to realize that there are worse things than being dead.

People need to get off their a$$e$ and stop worrying about their favorite sports team. Turn off the TV and do something productive. Forget about your cushy retirement plan.
Stop forgoing your principles for convenience.
Personally, I spend thousands per month on whatever I feel necessary. What is the point of saving your worthless cash?

More low income housing is good how? It seems to me that it encourages people in their shiftless ways and may also encourage homeless to migrant to our blue population centers from other states. We are in the midst of migration north and west.

Uraki - how about putting blame where it belongs the Republicans had a crap candidate in Buehler - I did not vote for Brown or Buehler because neither one held my respect. To say a vote for a third party hurt Buehler is ignorant. It treated Beuhler and Brown equally neither counted my vote.

I will look for it. She is being investigated for extorting $518k for her campaign from state vendors, to gain state contracts. Using state workers for her campaign, on state paid time. Using state funds to pay for her law license. And, I believe, state funds for a trip, poss to Costa Rica. I believe I saw the reference on this forum somewhere, but do not know how to search for it. Something also about designating 52 state workers as lobbyists.

I disagree - that is your opinion. What you mean is that I should have gave my support to a worthless Republican in order to prevent a worthless Democrat from winning. I voted for the candidate that most represented my position. Someday I would like to see a three party election..
