The legislative cowards are trying to sneak in a hearing this week to discuss HJR 201, which would put to vote requiring the legislature to create a "public safety" office and fund it via taxation of pretty much all goods and property people own. Outside of just how horribly bad that could be financially for people, understand very clearly that an office of "public safety" would likely be the forefront in attacking citizen rights of firearm ownership in the state. There's a reason the resolution does not provide any detail (because they're trying to get it as an amendment to the state Constitution) but make no mistake, this is another attempt to f us out of our rights.

You can provide testimony here: https://olis.oregonlegislature.gov/liz/2024R1/Measures/Testimony/HJR201

The article below says it will be a state property tax. An egregious money grab to fund some nebulous public safety initiative. This is bad folks.

It Includes intangible property. If they tax my expansive intellect, my tax bill is going to be huge :)
