Car Jackings are Way Up - What Are Your Plans / Best Practices ?

My '98 Forester has an ashtray, though at the moment I'm drawing a blank on whether or not it has a lighter.

My '99 Forester has one. It just falls out on it's own once in awhile. The ashtray has about $20 in ones and change in it for emergencies. It paid off at a Burger King drive-thru when they wouldn't take my hundred dollar bill (it's all I had on me), and I just handed the ashtray through the window and told them "take what you need". They thought it was pretty funny, but it worked.
