The 1911 has been around for 102 years for a good reason.

Impressive.million in a row?I love the gun but it's been surpassed in reliability. G21s have passed the 1 million round mark where 1911s would have died 10 over
I miss mine, I want another.
How much shooting of a sidearm does a real combat soldier actually do?If s really htf,I would be more concerned about the rifle I was carrying and not so much if my handgun were able to shoot a million rds.
Fair enough also.I`ll change my original comment to the best pistol to have is the one that you shoot the best.I mean,if you shoot your Hi-Point more accurately than your $2500.00 fancy built 1911,then it would probably be better to have the Hi-Point.They are cheap, but far from garbage if it saves your life one time.Fair enough, but depending on the situation, you may not be able to openly carry a rifle. It might come down to your concealed handgun.

Only mods needed IMO. Mine was a Lady Smith, all my good buddies pitched me crap over that but man what a great piece. If I was to choose a revolver for carry (which I won't) a 3" M65 would be it.
Pretty small front sight. At least on mine, any way.
Ha! I haven't found my perfect gun yet. Must. Keep. Buying.
I went 1911 since own one. Also I am confirmed
