When this says, "New and improved, now kills Corona virus!"

Even though it already does. I love capitalism. Mark my words you'll see it on something soon....

If I was an ammo manufacturer I'd print that on a box of ammo right now. Just sayin'.

Well, i'd say when I run out of wine.

In all seriousness though there are indicators things could get worse.

Is there rationing going on? If the answer is yes then that is a sign of an unhealthy economy.

How are the "leaders" reacting? Are they instituting price controls? Dumping mass amounts of cash with blatant disregard for the ripple effect? Creating jobs that seem stupid? What long term implications of these actions effect the economy?

If you see this going on be worried, whatever economic impact you see will be lengthened.

For me, this seems like my defcon level just went up, not much. The longer this goes on with idiotic policies in place the more likely it will be SHTF. Short term, this might not be bad. The longer it goes on with the same stuff ... Yeah bad news.

Did you consider the great depression SHTF?

The "central planners" both Republicans and democrat at the time made stupid policies that ignored natural market indicators and prolonged the great depression much longer then it should have lasted. The last resort was a market reset because they were too incompetent to recognize their mistakes.

And today everyone equated that with war being a great thing for an economy.

If rationing is a great indicator for a booming economy then color me stupid. It was a reset, there was no place to go but up. So far I've heard some socialist bailouts going on. What about truck drivers? Are we going to order the military to drive freight because it's desperately needed.

If you don't bail out business not needed in new market conditions they will take jobs where the market guides them. In other words if hand sanitizer and TP are in demand and eating out not so much, people will start working in TP manufacturing assuming an entrepreneur is smart enough to recognize higher prices indicate a profit can be made in that industry.

But, this may be temporary, I hope to God it is... Otherwise you've just witnessed the start of SHTF. Or as I like to call it, a long, great recession.

Oh yeah, and then there is the virus. Compare it to MERS and Ebola and then come back to me. WW2 killed 3% of the world population, what is the death rate again? Oh yeah, and those were healthy working age adults.

War is worse then pandemic. We survived WW2.... This could be bad because we are not the greatest generation.

Keep calm and carry on.

It would be nice to see some other larger chains do this. Maybe Freddy's

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but coronavirus has been on labels for years. This one is a variant of the strain that was the leading cause of SARS a few years back.

I'm calling this - a declaration of war.... so...

China is threatening to plunge America 'into the mighty sea of the coronavirus' by imposing controls on the export of pharmaceuticals to America.

When it is a situation of people hoarding commodities that doesn't work. The overall consumption of toilet paper is not going up. The supply chain is being stuffed by stupid people hoarding. If a company expands capacity, or builds a new plant to satisfy this artificial demand for TP then what happens when the crisis is over and all of that hoarded material is released into the supply chain? We saw that with guns recently, particularly ARs. We've seen it with ammo too. How are the gun and ammo companies doing these days?

This is where prepping helps. Those of us who prepped (I have 170 rolls of TP and I haven't bought any in a year or two IIRC) won't be out doing panic buying. Just like those of us who have savings and have paid off/down our debt won't be a drag on the economy compared to those who won't be able to pay their bills.

If you thought 2008 election was bad for ammo.. God save us all, all my goto ammo vendors who were well stocked throughout elections now are completely out of ammo...

Sh*t is entering the fan.. and getting ready to hit.. Italy has a 7% death rate from an overwhelmed health care system plus aging population. The fear, terror, government lockdown, inevitable economic recession and quarantines will be worse than the virus, but the virus isn't a joke. Keeping a population like Americans indoors for months also will take an act of God.

Once upon a time, America had ammo... That was before the virus came.. Coronavirus is an ammo eating virus.. o_O
Once upon a time it was safe to let your children play outside and to leave your tp visible in your car. Those days are over.
