I would bet dollars to doughnuts the Sheriffs will block enforcement, so it's only the City and State that could, and even they are not stupid enough to try and enforce any of this! Still, a no-knock @3;00am is possible, but even that would be bad news for all involved!

Down in Douglas county the sheriff has made mention that any of these new anti-2a laws created by the upper LEFT of the state will not be enforced. Not to mention, what about all of the 2nd amendment sanctuary counties like douglas, isn't there 11 or 13 now? I don't see how these things can even be brought up. If you say you're going to take away our rights, and especially if you put that into action, you should be jailed or hopefully just disappear

Several Governments in Europe have sworn to protect their citizens WITH the military so that the citizens do not need the 2nd, and their LEO are supposed to provide the basics of protection! Look at the crime rates there and tell me the 2nd wouldn't benefit the citizens! Those same countries have some of the highest crime rates in the world now, and many suffer under the delusional socialist programs of allowing in refugees from Islamic nations who DO NOT mix in with those societies!

Things would be different, sure, but there are plenty of governments that provide civil rights such as voting without any kind of second amendment rights. They are not mutually exclusive until you reach a metaphorical extreme.

Our 2nd Amendment was designed as a fail safe.. Period....."When all else fails"....No other Republic has a Constitution/Bill of Rights. I've been in Europe & they can have it, they say they have Rights their only kidding themselves. The privileges here in America are next to none. Rights are not automatic, with good Americans always fighting domestic evil. I will take my America, & if you can find a better way of life go for it.

I could be wrong, but I don't see the average gun owner risking that to spill blood for a cause that is mainly viewed by the public as outdated and irrelevant.

I can guarantee you that if they start going door to door for check ups or confiscation there will be blood spilled and a new civil war.

Some people feel the government is here to nanny us. usually the same people who think we don't need guns.
They want govt. to raise our children, put us through school, tell us where we can and can't go, how to spend our earnings, tell us we can't smoke or vape, etc. I guess since I haven't been handed anything from the government and wasn't raised to think that way it's only natural I take my and my family's safety as my own responsibility. Maybe that's with an AR pistol and a few 30 round mags by my bed, so what?

I'm reading the book "Ameritopia" by Mark Levin. It's all about how "they" want to establish that nanny state based on the age old ideas of a "Utopia". In this case, and in this age, the utopia would be established thru a government, possibly with a benevolent dictator, or maybe not, just as long as people cede individuality over so that they can be protected and taken care of... Then everything will be perfect, eh? Think how often we are hearing now that it is the job of government to provide security/safety, food, health care, living wages, protection from oppositional thoughts/ideas, banishment of designated personal enemies, etc. Not only are we told that we are unable to do for ourselves, but we are told in many cases that we are not allowed to, as in protect ourselves with an AR.

Mr. Levin is a true scholar, drawing from Plato, Tocqueville, Locke, Burke, and many others to explain the concept of Utopia and how it came to be applied to American thinking and politics. Ameritopia is a worthwhile read that explains much of the past few decades.

I finally got out of Kommiefornia, give them an inch and they will end up taking 500 miles. Sure, that all takes time, but after a few years gun owners ask "What the hell happened."

I hope you keep all that in mind when voting and don't create the same place you vacated... Bend has already changed so much! I'm a Calif transplant from San Diego since 1980 and I believe in leaving Kommiefornia ideas at the gate.

I wonder how many citizens would change their minds when they learn that good honest law abiding folks will become felons, and how they would feel when they learn that folks will be forced to comply or else? I wonder how these people will feel when up to 100 million of their friends and neighbors are raided and they fight back, some getting killed, some killing those doing the raids! I wonder how they will feel seeing bloody Americans on the T.V? I wonder how they will feel getting caught up in the crossfire that is inevitable when the raids start? Will they stand on their front porches and cheer, or will they cower in their basements waiting for the unknown, hoping to survive what is happening to their neighbors! I wonder how they feel standing around holding their protest signs demanding "Common Sense Gun Control" while their friends and loved ones are at risk, and not knowing IF a bunch of patriots band together and decide to take action! Will they cower, or will they turn them in? Will they go with the raiders during these actions and stand on the streets cheering while some poor citizen and his family who has done nothing wrong gets slaughtered for refusing to comply!

These things keep cropping up because we have made it too easy to get initiatives on the ballot. The voters approved the initiative process because they fell for the line that more "direct democracy" is better. Legislators can be held accountable at the ballot box by voting them out, but sponsors of these initiatives must be dealt with by defeating them time and again. It's a royal PITA.

Infact the US Constitution was important enough to where the State Constitution contained the very same amendment. Breaking it, both State and US are broken. It's primary purpose was to protect us from a rogue government rather than self defense. A situation much like occurred in Venezuela who had no protection from their government. They were without a Second Amendment, and were once a very wealthy country. Look at their status now.
