And I am going to say it again - it's also of at least this many, and a WHOLE lot more who claim to be pro 2A Republicans yet admit to NOT voting.

I routinely meet numbskulls who claim to be conservative, veterans, etc. yet ADMIT to not voting AND are unaware of the issues - 114 as one example.

Oh, they talk big and bold, about this and that the dems and libs are doing, and how things SHOULD be - but then admit to not voting for a variety of reasons - the BIGGEST being they say it 'doesn't matter'.
The worst of the bubbleguming worst.

36 reasons? I would say it was 24,972 reasons. 24,972 reasons people need to be more informed before they vote. 24,972 reasons they need to pull their heads out of their butts and learn what the constitution means, both State and Federal. 24,972 reasons their civics teachers need to be fired and never allowed to teach again.
We need to be having conversations with those people. Ragging on the internet wouln't do a thing unless it pushes people to take action. If we don't have those conversations, and often, nothing will change.

How many have taken up @dancinghippos on his offer? How many have reached out to their county Republican, Independent, or Libertarian party to see what they can do to help get the word out? How many are going to political meetings with like minded people and taking steps to work on campaigns? How many are even aware that the primary is in May and that many city and county issues will be settled there? Not just primaried, but settled.

If you're in or near Salem, you're welcome to come to the meeting this Monday night at 6pm at Sparky's. You're also welcome to come to the Marion County Republican party meeting at 6:30 at the VFW in Salem on Hood Street. You can listen to local political talk shows on the radio on you're way to work or on Saturday afternoon. Noncompliant America is on KSLM on from 4 to 5 Saturday afternoons. Jeff Kropf is on KSLM weekday mornings from 6-7. Lars Larson is also on weekday afternoons. Those aren't the only ones, just a few local ones.

You can't win the game sitting on the bench, sitting in the stands, or critiquing the game on Mondays. You have to get in the game if you want to win. The attacks will continue, and with increased ferocity, unless we can take the majority, or at least attain parity in the Oregon legislature. If we don't at least have parity, we don't get squat, not matter how much yelling and screaming we do.

I think it is a two pronged problem.
1: Engagement by segments of the gun community sucks. We are trying to make lazy and apathetic people care...but they choose not to until it's personally painful for them...and by that time it's too late. They don't understand that the longer they wait, the more painful it gets.
2: We need to learn how to talk to fools and crazy people. None of the anits or snowflakes speak, think, communicate, or vote using facts or logic. From my observations, they seem to avoid the discomfort of facts and logic at all costs. You could even say they're easily triggered by anything that challenges their echo chamber. They exhibit the symptoms of a cult. I don't think it is hyperbole to say that we need to learn the psychology of social engineering/brainwashing/cults and the methods to counteract it. Because the left and media have perfected the use of these delusions with the 24 hour news programming, and the indoctrination within public schools.

When you take someone shooting, especially a Leftist (from experience), it opens their eyes to, everything they've been told was wrong. I've seen, it's good to let that simmer then asks them about how they see God given rights. It may take time but some do come around.

Don't forget regular fictional TV shows. Think of all the TV dramas with the "good guys" spouting leftist rhetoric. You can say anything in a fictional book or show. Fictional dramas always "prove" with their outcomes whatever the author is pushing

Yep. Similar experiences. If half of the swaggering blowhards at a typical gun show or gun range would actually vote, Oregon would be a much different place.
This is the bottom line, period.

Look at a map of Oregon's 36 counties and you will see that 9 or 10 vote Democrat.

So about 26 of 36 counties in Oregon vote Republican,......With typical low voter turn-out ask ourselves if there wasn't 25K more votes in Oregon's 26 Republican voting counties.

Let's face it, historically speaking and on the whole, firearm owners are not a reliable voting block. But firearms owners are great at chewing the fat and bit*hing after the fact. Sad, but true.

How about some ideas on getting out the vote.

We could go to gun stores and ask them to put up signs reminding people to vote. Could do the same for gun clubs.
Could also ask gun show promoters to put one up at the front door.

Suggested banner: Vote as if your gun rights depend on it.

Any ideas on how to fund and implement?

Come on guys, we're all in this together.

Once people actually get round to filling out their ballots it's not an issue.

The statistics are plain as day. A substantial number of people, gun owners included, simply do not vote.

And that's part of the problem, people not voting. Not realizing that a non-vote is essentially a vote for incumbents. Because we all know, once your in office in Oregon, especially a democrat, it's nearly impossible to be unseated….

One reason, free stuff where it counts the most.

You are 100% correct and nothing will change unless we do something.
Start by taking a trip over the to the 'East Side' of OR and start lifting up all the 'rocks' a LOT of non- voters live under and start by educating them on what is going on and the importance of voting, but don't expect much in return.

Oh, and while you are at it try to 'wean off' those who follow the ultra right, anti-government bloviators and conspiratorialist types around here who try to push their beliefs on as many as they can.

Great point. The Leftists who now control the Democratic Party have created a permanent underclass that will vote for anyone who promises them free services, relief of their student load debt,. or outright cash.
The Left is not afraid of bad ideas or ideas that have no legal way to implement. Just say it loud and proud. The band wagon will support it

On the other hand, the right is afraid to speak up or work ideas until they are 100% ready, even then can't get enough support to make it happen.

Oregon has the power to change the tide. I still get emails, flyers, ect from the democrats stating this. It's no longer just anti 2A, the farmers/ranchers are starting to catch it as well. Hopefully prominent people can reach out and extend a hand.

Taking your guns will stop criminals from turning you into Swiss cheese (Portland yesterday afternoon) scrubbed from the network websites by this morning.
