.50 bmg

The .50 Browning Machine Gun (.50 BMG, 12.7×99mm NATO and designated as the 50 Browning by the C.I.P.) is a .50 in (12.7 mm) caliber cartridge developed for the M2 Browning machine gun in the late 1910s, entering official service in 1921. Under STANAG 4383, it is a standard service cartridge for NATO forces as well as many non-NATO countries. The cartridge itself has been made in many variants: multiple generations of regular ball, tracer, armor-piercing (AP), incendiary, and saboted sub-caliber rounds. The rounds intended for machine guns are made into a continuous belt using metallic links.
The .50 BMG cartridge is also used in anti-materiel rifles. A wide variety of ammunition is available, and the availability of match grade ammunition has increased the usefulness of .50 caliber rifles by allowing more accurate fire than lower quality rounds.

    Barrett M99 trigger

Put about 30 rounds through the M99 yesterday and came to the conclusion this trigger needs to go. Seems to pull back about 3/8” before firing. While pulling back it’s not smooth either. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions on a better trigger system?

Thoughts on putting $390 optic on a .50 BMG

So my new Barrett M82a1 showed up and at the moment I don't want to spend a ton of cash on a scope. I bought a $350 Athlon optic for my 6.5 CM RPR and have been really impressed and am moving towards buying an Athlon ARGOS BTR 8-34X56 MOA to put on the Barrett. My FFL who I had the rifle...

Armalite AR-50 (.50 BMG) with 15 MOA base

I own an AR 50. It has the 15MOA scope mount base/rail that the AR 50 comes with - it is marked on the front of the base. These are special rails as they mount into recoil lugs in the receiver. Not easy to find them (15, 50 and 100 MOA IIRC) - I don't see them on the Armalite sight anymore...

    Scopes for .50 BMG rifles?

I still don't have a scope for my AR-50 I keep thinking about getting one, but the nice ones are at least $1K per, and the really nice ones are $2K to $3K+ I was just wondering - I see cheap scopes to moderately priced long distance scopes from time to time. I know the good ones, like Burris...
