Actually, they voted "not guilty". "Innocent" is not something a jury can vote on. It is either "guilty" or "not guilty".

We're starting to hear more grumbling about stand your ground laws. We even saw the introduction of a "must attempt retreat law" this session in Oregon. My concern is that we will start to see the return of attitudes that somehow blame victims, such as rape victims, that "deserved it" because they got out of the car, or performed some other innocuous action.

The question is simply who threw the first punch? If Martin did its self defense. If Zimmerman did then its manslaughter.

Makes no difference if your life is in danger, you have the right to defend yourself. And the jury got it right in spite of the judge!
