Not saying he is innocent, and I hope anyone planning anything such as a mass murder is apprehended before they can enact those plans, but 20K rounds of ammo isn't that much, especially when you can buy 10,000 rounds of .22 for $300

I would hope the preponderance of evidence comes from statements he made and not merely the volume of what he owned.

Otherwise, if the state wanted to arrest people, they could claim anyone was planning a mass shooting, then show the guns, ammo and armor and make a person out to be deranged with 1 photo.

I often cringe/chuckle at what is often referred to as an arsenal by the media. If it doesn't need it's own room to store it, it's hardly an arsenal.

Hard to state your innocence when you're running from the police.

I read that, and that is clearly damaging to his case, he's likely guilty, however, I was merely considering how 99.9% of the population would assume guilt just because he was listed as a planner of mass murder.

Nobody likes those people, and how good of a tactic that would be to arrest dissidents. I recall someone else in another thread pointed out the same tactic could be applied with child porn. With that accusation, automatically 99.99% of the populace hates your guts and doesn't care about your rights.

Doesn't it seem odd for someone who was getting ready to do a mass shooting not one of those magazines were loaded?

To me most of those cases look like maybe 500 rounds ea. And there's only 18 o_O

Just my observation anyway!

How about that super dangerous random magpul stock sitting in the middle of the photo which isn't attached to anything. Just have to laugh at that.

What was the call on him?
"Hey! This guy wants to blow up UPS! "?
Seriously, If this guy was going to do this I'm glad someone made the call.
I also don't put too much stock in the hyperbole of a police news release. As someone pointed out, he wasn't all that ready if the magazines were empty, but OTOH , I could load that many magazines with a maglula in 30 minutes or so and I'm not fast. so his plan might have easily been for tomorrow.
At any rate, I'm glad this guy won't get to kill anyone tomorrow, if that was his plan.

If a murder was prevented I am happy. Would like to know more about the case against him.

The picture of evidence shows how ineffective California law is. Looks like more than one stop at the gun shop to me. He obviously doesn't give a snot. Just waiting for California's next law to supercede all the previous laws that didn't work.

I can see 20k in all that's there. when you work at ups you get muscles to pack that stuff around not being a armchair quarterback online.

OTOH, it is about 19,950 more rounds than he would need for a mass shooting - so how is the number of rounds and guns relevant? A person can do a mass shooting with two or even one revolver.

I assume he has had the ammo some time considering CA's new ammo laws.

Maybe bought it before the mail order ban - or got it from one of the possible many new 'black market' ammo schemes I have read about - or stole it as previously suggested.

Reality being what it is he probably WOULDN'T have carried this out. His threats, actions, ect. suggest he is probably just a loud mouthed drunk who opened his mouth for booze and talk one too many times HOWEVER it has been said 'A drunk man's words are a sober man's thoughts' so I am glad this happened and a potential shooter is off the street.

That's what I was saying, the volume of ammo is really inconsequential, but the mews release focuses more on that than anything that could be actually incriminating.
