Want everyone to be like their "kind"
Decent unless they are in their Subaru
Open minded so much their brains fell out.
Generous with other peoples money, rights and property.:)

I am one of those that see Liberal = Democrat.
The reasoning is there exist a group called Democrats, and being a liberal is an idea.
Its not even a culture, like the gun culture is. However this idea of Liberalism is and was embraced
as the poster child wordage of being a Democrat = Liberal mind set.
The easy way to be a liberal and not be lumped in to the Democrat agenda, is to fight the Democrats
and tell them to stop using this language. From a conservatives point of view there is no clear distinction between
being a Liberal and Being a Democrat and this cohesion was created by Democrats, not by Conservatives nor Republicans.
Its not fair, nor is everyone assuming every Conservative, owns a pickup and owns a Confederate flag.( I just so happen to lol ),
has no education, and voted for Trump. The LGC, view this as such, and have stated as such to me. Its not good for either side, but neither is the cause and effect from one side only. Just a FYI, owning a gun doesn't make someone pro-gun, nor an enthusiast.
You may be thinking of Progressives. I grew up around a lot of Liberals. The SJW, BLM, gun control, open borders, late term abortion, child sex change people are Progressives, not Liberals. Liberals may let their hearts get the better of them from time to time, but they know common sense and they don't use hate to make a point. I still have several Liberal friends. They may be wrong more often than I am ;) but they don't let it bother them.

This is something that is a small puzzle to me, the age of the average 2nd Amendment Rights supporter.
Its an unknown to me. But as we all get older will their be others to hold that torch? I am still young enough, and strong enough to fight. But I can even tell from just ten years ago, some wind is being knocked each time, but I get up take another swing.

You ask a great question.

As a geezer I know for a fact more than half my life is behind me, frankly, that's an optimistic estimate.

In any event, I did what I could, when I could, and I do what can, as I'm able.

What is frustrating is why I have to pay money I worked hard for just so I get to keep someone else's version of a civil liberty, the original version of which I came by constitutionally?

I am old/retired/infirm, BUT... I am a registered OATHKEEPER, and I will do my duty when and if the time comes... as bikemutt said, what I can, as I am able.

You'll be fine. When the revolution comes we're going to annex everything east of the Cascades anyway.

I'm ready to move. I don't and have never fit into the Oregon culture. Geographically beautiful, but I have been treated like dirt more times in the past 7 years than the 34 years before that. The Portland area is hands down the most miserable place I've ever lived and would love to live in a place with people that are more like me. Sad that I'm almost 41 and still trying to find a place to live where I actually feel free.

There is hope for (and from?) Generation Z. I'm not sure if they'll kick in soon enough, but some of them will be of voting age in time for the next Presidential election.

You are in the worst possible place to take a sample of Oregon's scociety . You could literally live almost anywhere else in the state and you will feel different ......south of Rosenberg and east of Hood you would probably feel 100% different .

Thanks I was just going to say the same thing.

100% truth. Get Rural my friend. I'm 45 mins out from "The City" and it's much more like what you desire.

Im not characterizing it negatively. In fact, I agree with the whole thing...

My point is, from the states perspective, these guys and the 3% groups that showed up, etc... Could be considered as ''paramilitary" under the statute.

However, the state never pursued that as one of the charges... Nor do they go after any of the other known 'militia' groups here.

Making the point to the person who originally cited the statute as a response to my call for organizing an opposition...

That if the state didn't use that law against the Malhuer crew or to actively shut down 3%ers, etc... That we could probably do okay with organizing an opposition to this crap.
OK, Now I think I understand. I took your statement as a stand alone comment, not as a example. The dark side of government DID finally come down extra hard on the Malheur Reservation group of ranchers and their supporters. I will never forget that unarmed LaVoy Finicum was murdered in cold blood with his hands raised in the air after what the State troopers and FBI said was a routine traffic stop! When you got a vehicle behind you firing shots at your vehicle to give you incentive to flee in an effort to get away from them them, "herded" down the road towards a blockade setup for ambush, that is not a traffic stop! Even after Finicum moved away from his vehicle in an effort to save lives they continued to shoot and explode flash bang grenades at the vehicle. That says they wanted to instill fear, to teach the rest of the group in that car a lesson! Finicum was just one of the group of peaceful gun owning people who stood up for our Constitution. I don't think one person has ever served time for that murder and subsequent long-term incarceration of other key supporters without trial. Evil surrounds us folks! I'm through commenting on this thread. Sorry for the rant but it is important to confront evil in all forms!

That's what I thought too...but....nope. You're still going to be dealing with the same insane gun grabbing legislation, same clown show year after year, more infiltration/infestation of Eastern Oregon as libbies love to roar over the mountain passing on double yellows for their little play dates in the wilderness, snapping up properties etc.

When you're living in an occupied war zone, there's no fooling yourself. This is the reality I woke up to in the last year. Seeing Pendleton turned into a hipster paradise was the last straw for me. Any move into a smaller town only means you WILL be defending yourself from hordes of angry socialists who come into your shops/towns/restaurants/gas stations etc lecturing you on how evil you are and/or throwing bricks through your windows. This state is hosting some very sick mentally ill people, and they are violent. I'm not interested in living under the thumb of the lunatics who've hijacked my home state. It's not going to get any better if you move out hundreds of miles away from PDX nutball patient zero, you're still going to be held hostage by the lunatics.

That's true. You can get away from Portland and the W. Valley..... But they still dictate to the entire state regardless of local sensibilities.

They send their teachers to your schools, run your city/county government and of course their entertainment industry and social media empires are infecting your youth with their ideals........

Flee to a free state and fight tooth and nail against EVERY little thing that pops up... the camel's nose under the tent...

As we have seen over the last 20yrs... There is no such thing as compromise. It will never be enough, that's why it's called progressive, there must always be progress towards something more, and that always means more control.
It's like they're playing a game of whack a mole and the moles are our freedoms... They have to smash it at every opportunity

Again, if you flee... You cannot rest easy

I feel really lucky then, but I fear you are right . its going to take a fight eventually

Yikes! I haven't been into the town of Pendleton for quite awhile. Mostly I just pass by on the freeway to Tri-Cities or past Wildhorse on the way to Walla Walla for medical. Is it really true? Wheatland is now full of douche-knot, black framed glasses, soy latte boys? No more Cinch shirts?

I have a young millennial couple as neighbors here in L.G., she is a psych major (I give her crap about it :D) and he is a game blogger. Oh my. Nice kids and good neighbors but non-traditional for sure. They are into firearms (I've taken them to IDPA), but I've stopped talking politics with them because it's just hard to take how different some kid's thinking is today. He has started wearing his hair in a bun... oh my.

Most of Pendleton is the same. They are trying to make the wine country transition so there's some hipster on main street. More like rural uppity than anything.

Hmmm, wine country... didn't know that about Pendleton. Knew about Columbia Crest across the river from Umatilla, and have been noting the huge proliferation of wineries in Walla Walla though. I'm not real comfortable with change in Pendleton because it's so close to La Grande and I am seeing some changes here too. Sucks to get old!!!
