And on top of that they seem to be studiously ignoring my reply to their request about proceeding with the rest of the order, where I told them to cancel it all. Guess first thing Monday AM I call them and tell them they better either stop it or give me an RMA with them paying shipping because delivery WILL be refused if attempted.
You can cancel the order on their website.

I think you missed the part where my beef is their jerking people around and dishonesty rather than straight-up saying "n more gun parts to WA" on their exclusions list. For that, they can go get fudgepacked until their fecal continence is just a memory...

I'm very unpleased with the last 10 years of Washington gun laws, but I'm not lashing out at companies for it. They're a company that sells nationally and internationally. They've got a litany of special rules to follow for some of their products for where it can and can't go. I'd be surprised if they have the entire list figured out yet of what they can and can't do so they probably have a person whose job it is to review orders to specific places.

Seems like an awful lot of angst directed at a company over ultimately a small issue. You're not even out money.

Those firearms (semi-auto pistols) are not illegal in Wa state so I don't understand why the parts would be considered illegal. Once again it's just cowardly companies that are not willing to step up and say "f off you tyrannical scum" to the policy makers in all of the communist states in this country. It's one of the reasons that these lawmakers have been emboldened because they know even companies will not put up a fight against their tyrannical rules.

I started my boycott about six years ago.
Terrible customer service!
I don't ever even consider doing business with them again.

I simply don't like optics planet because they say they have items in stock and after purchasing you'll get an email saying they are on back order. That's why I avoid them.
Exactly,

Couple years back I ordered a high powered flashlight that was listed as "in stock". OP charged my credit card, and then emailed me a back-ordered notification the next day.

Three months later, after numerous attempts to actually contact a living person, I had my credit card company reverse the charge. Only THEN did I get a call from OP about the order status of the item. They can pound sand.

Luckily now you can cancel your order through the website. My last interaction was surprisingly painless. Although I'll never use optics planet again.

I bought $168 worth of mags from GMW last night and chose $7.99 ground shipping. It won't ship probably until the 16th or 17th. Something tells me I should have eaten the $38 and chosen 2nd day shipping instead.

The good news though....don't need any more mags. So there's that at least.

Update: OP ignored my Cancel request (MULTIPLE both email and phone) and shipped anyway, but they're paying the return shipping. We'll see how that works out... pity that Anise had to be a five-star rep for ONE star company, hope she can find somewhere better soon.

Looks like it's time to blacklist OpticsPlanet, they've decided they don't want business from WA residents but aren't honest enough to straight up say "no sales to WA." They just canceled an order for three small 1911 parts, a wrench and a laser boresighter.

Their email:
"
We have carefully reviewed the details of your order and some of the products you ordered are subject to United States federal, state and/or local government laws and regulations regarding the domestic sale of restricted products. We apologize, but at this time we are not able to proceed with processing your order as submitted. In order to ensure that we comply with all applicable laws and regulations we are forced to remove the following product(s) from your order:
===================================================================
Wilson Combat Magazine Catch Lock, Stainless, R15BS $2.75
SightMark Laser Bore Sight, 45 ACP, SM39017 $29.97
Real Avid 1911 Smart Wrench AV1911SW $12.99
Wilson Combat Reduced Power Full-Size Spring Hammer, Stainless Alloy, 22 Lb., 781SS-22 $5.95
===================================================================
Please reply as quickly as possible via phone at 1-847-513-6201 or email at [email protected] whether you are still interested in receiving the remainder of your order. If so we will get it out to you as soon as possible."

My reply:
"Tell me, are you honoring the Barrett Rule and applying these same rules to State agencies and officers thereof?

At this time I'm inclined to say cancel the entire order, and I will place our business relationship "under review pending future developments." Perhaps someday you MIGHT have the chance to regain my business IF you will follow the Barrett Rule and similarly withhold sales from gov agencies/personnel."

Sounds to me like we need to get the word out for a statewide boycott both here and at NWFA, because it's a safe bet they'll still run those invoices and ship for Pedo Bob and his minions.
Based on what I read of this crazy inslee unvoted law it really only applied to "AR" parts. I don't remember any verbiage about pistols. I think these vendors don't know what it says so are just saying no.
I have not had any luck with OP in the last three years so I closed my dealings with them

I really don't understand why one would be mad at the vendor. Place the anger towards the Washington politicians who created the mess. The vendor is just protecting their business and is under no obligation to wade through and interpret the ridiculous Washington law. They are using an abundance of caution and I don't blame them one bit.
Exactly correct. The anti-gun groups write the legislation adopted by elected Democrats FOR THE EXPRESS PURPOSE OF CHAOS AND DIFFICULTY in the firearms community.

Additionally, as a software guy for decades pre-retirement, imagine what business effort goes into changing your point-of-sale code constantly for all 50 states (or whatever # of leftist states) by parts line item of your entire inventory under these new evil laws. Even attorneys can't figure it out until years into the process from judicial decisions.

The is just an idea but maybe let's list the vendors that are friendly so we can save some time and headaches . I know this a Washington issue but some have already started on Oregon by refusing to ship to these states .

sportsmansguide - ordered and delivered 20 round mags for a ds 1911
cdnnsports- ordered and delivered HK USP 12 round mags to the door
When I lived in a state on the east coast that was very unfriendly to guns, it was frowned upon to post and list these types of vendors on our forum.

Which isn't to say we should gate keep that info either, just not be super public about it on open forums. Big companies have lawyers that will eventually just decide it's not worth it. especially if the heats coming from the state government, illegal or not.

Just a thought.

I guess I'm a little confused. OP may have poor customer service or whatever, that's a different story. Why boycott a company, any company, for using caution when it applies to laws that require a team of lawyers to decipher. Just here on NWFA you can read many differing opinions and ideas of this one law. They have 50 states, the District of Columbia, many cities and counties all with differing laws and regulations to deal with. If my trucks fuel pump stops working I don't boycott Chevron, I change the pump. If we start at the source of the problem and replace the broken part you will no longer have this problem.

How we do this I will leave to smarter minds. My mind tends to take a dark road.

Just my thoughts.

Again, my beef isn't the decline to sell, it's the jerking me around for a month and a half stringing me along BEFORE the Neck Snapping 180.

I get that but the post seems to leaning towards the law gripes. And your problem all stems from the law. It isn't there fault we live on the left coast. I've run into this same problem with KM Tactical, Brownells and a few other places. I'm sure many here have had them with other places. One company cashed my USPS money order then realized our law had changed and didn't send my item, nor notify me or refund me until I called asking when they were going to ship. Welcome to the national socialist party known as Washington state
