Uhhh, unless I have missed something, Tannerite should not go off with shotshells of any kind. It needs a higher velocity projectile than a shotgun is capable of generating.

Yes, you are indeed missing something. There are now other brands of Tannerite designed specifically to explode at 22 LR rimfire velocities. And it is quite easy these days to buy shotgun ammo that can match that velocity. White Lightning and Goliath are two of the brands now selling 22 rimfire versions of Tannerite.

How do you think that the late Tom Knapp was able to shoot all of those exploding targets with his 12 gauge Benelli at his exhibition shooting shows?

Precisely the point I was going to make. Easy way to turn regular tannerite into rimfire is by grinding down the white granules into a fine powder. All about surface area. Also, don't try that at home. In your backyard. In Eugene... Jeffrey!

FWIW if you ever get bored and are too cheap to buy real tannerite the ammonium nitrate "white granules" are found in cold packs ...like the ones in the medicine cabinet at work ;) . Powdered 400 mesh aluminum is the other component and it can be purchased cheap and you dont use much of it.

Why not just shoot at targets/clays/gongs etc. for accuracy & consistency? ya know - kinda like what shooting is all about to begin with. (in a safe and legal area that is)
