Preach it. I hear you.

Aman brother:D. The mind has to think it's the right thing to do before you will do it so health advice is normally only accepted when it comes from professionals. Unfortunately those professionals are there mostly to make a buck so not always do you get good advice.

You get vitamin D from the sun yet the professionals tell you to always wear sun block when out in the sun. Low vitamin D has lots of bad affects including depression.

Doctors for years told us we needed to cut back on salt due to it causes high blood pressure yet today we seem to have several salt derivatives manufactured to get the pressure up yet those same viagra pills are said to bring on skin cancer.

They told us not to eat real butter and as America went to phony foods we come down with an epidemic of cancer.

Get back to real food and real living and life may be better health wise.

Awesome. And don't forget about fat, O bacon seed (lol). Men do need actual cholesterol and real "fat".
anyway

Well figure it out, body takes on food and turns it into stored fuel. Now if you eat good food it turns into a natural fat. Eat bad food and it turns into cancer.

Build a good platform for the gun to shoot straight. You are that platform, learn how to keep it from shaking and learn how to keep that vision clear. Then BRASS until you hit what you aim at.o_O

All I know is I would probable kill somebody if they tried to do to me, what I've done to myself. :s0140:

Lots of lessons to learn in life. :s0092:

I don't know your particular cancer but people are being killed all over the country just by the foods they eat. We have reached a point where the professionals have really damaged the quality of life, you are fortunate to survive dealing with them. When my wife came down with cancer they treated her for pneumonia for the first month then when they found out it was cancer she died two weeks later. 40+ years together. You have had your personal SHTF, glad you could fight your way through.

I'm lucky in the way my job has a fitness standard testing and health screenings every year so it keeps you honest and in better shape than your average keyboard commando

I started eating real food ad well and that changed a ton for how I feel.
Real bacon...real butter. Just plain meat and veggies...of course I cannot cut out starch but either way I stopped craving the crap foods. Now I keep cashews in the truck for my snacks Instead of cheeze it and doritoes. Problem is I cannot gain weight Now. Been stuck at 180 forever it seems. Wish I could bulk up a bit.

Take a nap after you eat to put on fat or the only other choice you have is build muscle. All permanent weight is fat or muscle, deal is both require eating more to build. Fighter I knew who wanted to bulk up had a heavy diet of tuna and rice, it worked for him. Everyone is different and you have to study what works and what doesnt useing a clock and a weight scale. Learn at what time you burn.

If you really are experiencing "failure to thrive".. an actual medical term who's genesis sprang from hardcore vegetarians insisting that their babies eat only sprouts and what.. I'd suggest whole milk to accompany your every meal.

I can't do it...I put heavy cream in my coffee and whole milk in cereal but to much messes with my gut. I used to drink a ton of milk and now if I drink a glass it becomes a horrid "run" of trouble.
I was looking at some of the higher calorie diets to gain weight and I could do more protein and starch...Just have not tried the diet change to more healthy fat along with working out. Used to be 200lbs all the time and after my injury it was a struggle to get to 180. Problem is I like chicken and fish...just got 2 Chinook this weekend and need to eat them! Got some rolling on the Traeger right now! I will try and eat more meat and rice and less veg for a while and see how that works out.

I'm not saying food dose not matter. But walk 5 miles a day and lift weights three or four times a week and you can eat a lot! Of almost anything!

So I would say exercise first. Then you can worry more about what, and how much you eat.;)
Eating is easy compared to working your a$$ off. :s0140:

As for drink? water, water or water.

Years ago I drank bad water and got very sick, probably guardia. It made it where I couldn't drink milk at all without the same run. Had to kill that bug in me be for I could drink milk, blackberry brandy really works in killing bugs. It's a natural remedy.

Man I would be ticked if my parents had tried feeding me sprouts..I SHOULD BE SMARTER BUT YOU MALNOURISHED ME!!!

Another thing that bothers old shooters is their eyesight. One of the many problems is dry eyes, old people's eyes dry up fast during the day and it really helps to use a non medicated eye drops to help your eyes. Same saline stuff they use for contacts really helps them old eyes, keeps them clear.

Yup, Had to get glasses this year. I am turning into a truly cranky old man. Glasses, bum knee, high blood pressure and with all that I am still in better shape than most of our population!
I watch guys huff and puff to climb around rocks when fishing that are half my age. I cannot help but feel lucky that I grew up in the boonies and stayed in good shape by just walking to my friends next door.....about 2 miles. Pretty sad to see overweight and out of shape kids becoming the norm.
