My heart goes out to the victims.. But Im saddened to think "guns" are going to be the only topic in the media for a while.

Get ready for another panic.
With this many victims, and with it being a white shooter.. You can bet your hat the media is just salivating all over this.

However, the few issues here are:
*Was it A full auto or was it a device that aided in rapid fire that he had put on or in his semi auto firearms. Was it a belt fed rifle in the video? Sounded WAY more than 100 rounds in one string of fire. Far too smooth to be a tac trigger or the new triggers on the market that fire both at the pull and release of the trigger.

*Are the rumors true that this was a radical liberal (as stated online) attacking a country festival that has (mostly) Trump supporters/conservatives..etc?

Anyhow.. Seeing how all this shakes out. I was confident this year would be a happy firearm and ammo buying year, Without panic, without politics.. Then this happens..

And this is a perfect example! When young and growing up ,I lived in a different America. In fact the America of today is not the true America of the past. And unfortunately not getting better! No value of live, no respect, no discipline, lawlessness with no accountability. = No Moral Compass!
A good example is also the NFL Players during our National Anthem holding up their arms with fist clenched. Ladies and Gentleman that is not Freedom of Speech. That is the gesture of the Black Panthers as disrespect and represents defiance of America. Most do not know what that gesture represents. I know, because I was in the Army when all the riots broke out and the turmoil involving the Black Panthers in years past. And I was at Chicago with the Army during the Democratic Convention Riots of 1968. It is nothing more than a sign of disrespect and defiance of America IMO. And a definite sign of Moral Compass decay!

The cyclic rate was not that of a full auto weapon. Only a thought some of the shots sounded like they may have been fired from a Semi-Auto AK 7.62X39 type weapon. But IMO, he was just rapidly pulling the trigger. Just for an example, I have several Rock River Two Stage Triggers and the "Reset" on them is amazing time wise for consecutive shots. He also could have had some Bata-Mags which hold 100 rounds.

Naw, I know plenty of lefties who like country music and go to concerts. Country is American music really. Also all lefties are not anti-1a, 2a.. Sadly my ideas are a little much for either party oh, and I like country music.

Tragedy on our doorstep. They are reporting full automatic fire. I have worked security as part of the USAF for many events starting with the Lake Placid Olympics. I have not felt comfortable in large crowds since. These events reinforce those feelings. One of the reasons we avoided Octoberfest while in Munich last year.

The "news" will be wall to wall with guesses and plain made up stuff for days. One bottom line is gun control. Liberals ran to camera's in seconds to start and that will be wall to wall. For those lamenting the glut in firearms after the election this will solve that problem fast. I would be willing to bet good money this kook was on some kind of "medications" too. The way the family is saying this came out of nowhere. Liberals will milk this for all it's worth. For whose who wanted Hilary to win to "teach the GOP a lesson" be glad you lost. I don't think he meant any smack toward country music - just recognizing at least the perception that many country music fans tend toward conservatism, Trump support, etc. if a leftist fanatic wanted to take aim at a bunch of good ol boys, who likely celebrate southern America, even the rebel flag, what better event to try and find a bunch of them together than at a country music festival?

We went to the Molalla Buckeroo back in July. All country music (of course) and very, very strong displays of patriotism, the flag and support of military. I'm guessing a lot of conservatives in that crowd.

which is why I like going to those kind of events. Most of the people are like minded and are usually just good ol country gals and guys. There is always a few in the crowd that don't fit in but you can get that anywhere you go. I will for the future make sure that I go to the places that are in a more rural setting to avoid situations like what happened in Vegas.

We're about due. We haven't had a god panic but since this time last year - right before Hillary Trump got elected.

I can with no doubt guarantee there would be another huge panic is she had won as so many wanted. It would be a matter of days and the shelves would be empty, next the online places would have limits and it would all start again. Of course by now she would be drafting orders too. This will certainly put an end to the prices on AR's I had not seen in my lifetime though. I don't even want another AR and I was having trouble not running out and buying one at those prices.
