the sequence was not even---fast then a little slower and then back to a fast cadence. Could be a crank style as it is hard to maintain a steady revolution of the crank style since you are pushing and then pulling the crank through it's arc. It is my understanding that ISIS doesn't claim responsibility unless the shooter really is a muslim/convert and inspired by them. All the reports I have seen so far say they know next to nothing about the guy except his identity, that of his roommate and where he lived.

As is the case in these events, you pretty much have to wait for the real facts. Going to be a lot of rumors floating around at first. I really doubt they know anything this soon.

there just was report that his family has made a statement. They say that nobody in hie family would have ever thought the guy would do something like this. He has zero for any criminal record.

I hope to god that this is an isolated, lone wolf situation. I also hope the gun used was a non transferrable illegally obtained or modified gun and not a street legal AR or similar with bump fire or binary trigger. I know it sounds bad but some nut with guns he bought legally killing so many...the weaksauce in Washington would roll over on us sink us if given a chance. Honestly - and I am not intending to be insensitive or make light - IF this is homegrown terrorism I hope its one of the Antifa types who decided Nov 4 was too far away to start their BS. Would minimize political damage to us going forward and cement them in the eyes of the people as the terrorist organization that they are.

My heart goes out to the dead, the wounded and their families. To those running toward the gunfire and trying to stop the carnage, I am grateful and proud of them.

I really, really pray this is not just the first of more attacks to come. God help us.

Was thinking about that just yesterday. My wife and I took our daughter and a friend to see Cirque du Soleil in Portland. I carried into the event (they checked purses and bags, nothing more) and spent some time before the show getting a good look at the exits - multiple routes, if something were to happen. Problem is mob panic when such an event occurs - leaving throngs of panic stricken people clumped at the exits unable to get out. In such an event, looking for some good cover may be the best choice - and there were numerous places I could see to take cover if it were necessary. Either way, I really don't care much for big events/soft targets like that. There was obviously no armed security, and not a single LE on site, so if something bad had gone down, we'd have been on our own. I can't help but think how easy it would be for someone to just walk into the tent and start firing on the crowd - it's sad we have to think of such things, but it is an unfortunate reality, thankfully though, an uncommon one.

Back on topic, it is beyond words to describe last night.

I even have a coworker distraut because she can't get ahold of her friends that live in vegas right now.


Other then speculate on the topic, in giving it 48 hours to settle and then see what they are saying.

Events like this cause me to have no desire to be in a large crowd or a venue where there is no security...

This folks is the result of a seriously broken moral compass, we as a nation have a broken moral compass... The culmination of that broken moral compass coupled with the devaluation of human life, on full display last night in Las Vegas....
