36 pit is on hwy 224 past Lazy Bend campground. This is the location for this date.
Future dates/locations TBD, but the goal is every Saturday.

We've recently add a few new members to our Target Shooter Information Program (TSIP) Booth Leaders Group. Below is a list of our whole team. Give them a shout-out and a like or two when you can!

The TSIP Booth Leaders Group is a 'Private Conversation' group who communicates behind the scenes to coordinate the logistics of the information booth program. We work out the schedule dates and fine tune the program to help make it as effective as possible.

To date, these are the NWFA members who put their 'boots on the ground' and are 'digging the trenches' to help save your right to Recreational Sport Shooting on public land. They communicate one-on-one with shooters in the woods to encourage them to join our efforts and help us to keep that right alive and well. In return, we get a cleaner forest, a better reputation, more cooperation from forestry agencies and a more solid definition of Recreational Sport Shooting.

While we currently have a good team assembled, we are still needing more volunteers to join in. We have a lot of ground to cover and want to expand this program to other forests and public lands. Not everyone has to do the field work. We can use help from people who can contribute in other ways, such as, public relations, info distribution to local businesses, adopt and implement this program in other areas, and so forth...

This is a unique effort, designed by NWFA and USFS Mt Hood Nat Forest, only found here at Northwest Firearms. We are actively involved in doing something that has lasting value to gun owners. If you can help, we'd love to have you on board!

It's part of her costume to help make her point... How dangerous it is out there! Especially when you're a news reporter with an agenda! "You never know where a bullet may end up"!

Still, it's what we have to deal with. Just too bad they won't report on our efforts to raise awareness and promote good/safe shooting. They'd much rather stir the pot and exaggerate how bad things are. (Makes for better ratings!)

I'm glad you guy's have a decent group of Forest service people to work with.
We don't have as bad a problem out here as you guy's do.
BUT we still get disrespectful jerks from Portland and Vancouver ( and a few from here) out here making big messes in places that are open to shooting.

Every time we shoot we end up taking home more than we brought.
85% of the time its 12 gauge shells all over. I just don't get why these people cant pick up after them selves?

It gets really old when we go to the same spot every 3-4 day's picking up other peoples $heet......

Another TSIP booth presentation is planned for this Saturday, Sept. 19.

Where?
Past Estacada, up the Clackamas River, along Hwy 224.

The program still needs more volunteers to help staff the booth for this and future set ups.

No experience is needed, but the ability to work outdoors all day, with desire for public contact is essential.

If you have sales, trade show, merchandising, display, or other experience in public information - you are especially welcome!

If you have access to, or experience with, flyer or brochure development and printing - or have media or IT experience - you are needed!

Do you have a pickup or suv that you can haul booth materials for the setups in?

Do you like the idea of continued access to public lands for recreational target shooting?

Are you disgusted with trashed out shooting spots?

Do you have an interest in meeting the public in an outdoor setting and sharing your knowledge of safe, ethical target shooting practices?

Get in touch with Cogs, and let him know that you're willing and able to help with this effort.

Please volunteer to join and work with your fellow NWFA members and local LEO's in this public outreach, and help preserve our 2A rights.

The USFS has donated a few choice items that we will use as gifts of appreciation to those who volunteer to help run the Target Shooter Information Booth! Those items are; Otis gun cleaning kits ($50 items each), Ammo cans, and some fun "Splatter Targets".

Here's what we'll do with them...

If you help run the Target Shooter Information Booth;

• 1 time, = A Free Splatter Target

• 2 times = A Free Ammo can

• 4 times = A Free Otis gun cleaning kit.

"While supplies last". We have several of each but they will be gone before you know it.

There is room for 3-4 people at each booth set up. You don't have to be a member of the TSIP Booth Leaders Group. Our next booth runs Sat, Sept 19th, 2015, however, let us know ASAP so we can schedule properly. Send a message to me, Cogs, or Ed Guinn. We will get you the details about where and when to meet.

Despite a late morning start, and ending at 2 PM - the booth set up Saturday 9/19 welcomed over 30 people.

25 information packets were handed out, with free earplugs and box, or paper targets.

It was the first time that the big new pavilion canopy was used, along with new tables, target displays and storage bins. (Thanks rangerlars and the USFS!)

This may be the last one for the season though, considering weather and lack of volunteer availability. (Fall is busy!)

Recruiting committed volunteers will continue to be a challenge for Cogs and rangerlars. Want to help out?

The fall and winter months provide opportunities to define and produce protocol and procedures, along with developing and sourcing promotional materials such as flyers, brochures, banners and signs.

It's been fun helping keep this thing going over the last few months, and the best part was learning from all the great volunteers and people who stopped by the booth.
