What would the implications be for all of us suppressor owners? Keep what we have and never be able to buy/order another? Never be able to have a gunsmith thread another semiauto barrel for us? No second hand threaded barrel sales? Nasty subject.

The genie is out of the bottle - you can get the tools to thread pipe at most hardware stores. You can get the materials to build a suppressor at any hardware store. If you can't get a gunsmith to thread a barrel, it wouldn't be terribly difficult to do it yourself, provided you have a bench vice. Let Nanny Gov figure out if that barrel was threaded pre or post thread-ban...

"Banning" the next time around won't come in the form of a worthless feature "ban". It will be all semiauto's and will eventually mean no transfers unless to the destruction pile.

Those under 40 wont recall what lead up to the AWB, The then ten-year ban was passed by the U.S. Congress on September 13, 1994, following a close 52–48 vote in the Senate, and signed into law by then Bill Clinton the same day. The ban only applied to weapons manufactured after the date of the ban's enactment. Looking back the same situations is bringing its self into focus..

Wasn't a ban on "assault rifles" either. Just certain evil parts like flash hiders, bayonet lugs and collapsible stocks. I bought a post ban AR in about 1998 and it shot just fine.

The word "Ban" means different things to different people. The '94 Ban was a total joke. The grabbers learned from their mistakes and a few more high profile massacres from now , with a lame duck President fighting for ratings on their side and a Democratically controlled Senate and House I expect something a bit more Draconian. It won't happen tomorrow but 2 years from now all bets are off.
