Hunting skills and self defense skills interchangeably beneficial?

Montana is what I would consider mostly "common sense hunting regs" along with a 5 week rifle season.

I found that my wilderness skills transferred well to urban environments, especially in foreign cities like Calcutta. I've been stocked by Mountain Lions while doing forestry, and down in the jungles of Mexico while caving, and there's things you recognize when it comes to people stocking you. Something in the air changes when there's a predator about, and the animals and people near the predators change their behaviors, and speech.

I used to enjoy watching the thieves work in places like San Francisco, Las Vegas, Rome, etc. Good predators do the same thing, where one will distract, and another will do the dirty deed. It's when the distraction happens that you need to start looking around for what's really happening.
