Maybe, it was so freakin dark and by the time we could actually see the dogs they were within 10-15 yards and moving fast. If we were already in our bags in the tent I doubt we would have been able to get to the car fast enough.

Dogs are an unknown for a STHF type situ, IF you run across a dog post STHF, it's likely part of and enforcement team or SAR! Unless You have good OPSEC and have the tactical advantage of space and time, a encounter with a dog is going to be swift and focused! Taking steps to mitigate a dog threat can involve some pretty simple tricks as well as an understanding of what the dog is doing and how to take the dog out of the equation! Knowing how a professional Dog works, and the tools that a dog has is going to give you some advantage! Ultimately, dealing with a Professional dog is probably not likely STHF/Post, but it CAN happen!
