Try enforcing existing laws and trying criminals rather than slapping them on the wrist to commit another crime on another day…

The progressive left solution to crime and violence has gone beyond insanity, its almost as if high crime is what the progressive left wants.

The reason that the government allows criminals who commit firearm related crimes to repeatedly re-offend is because it drums up support for the gun control narrative. They're not allowing crime to increase because they're stupid, no, on the contrary.... it's part of a bigger plan. And most people are so ignorant they don't even see it.

And it's not just gun control, the government always stirs crap up to gain support for more control. People just want to be "safe"

Has anyone on this forum ever contacted local TV stations? Specifically the news departments and/or individual reporters, and questioned why practically NEVER do they bring up the crimes these mugs have committed in the past? I used to do that on occasion. Gosh, it's been a long time though. I felt like a was providing a service letting them know of something that was incorrect in a report I'd watched on the news. I don't watch any TV news anymore. Not even the likes of the fox crew. I once contacted lard larsen via email about something he had stated that wasn't quite correct. You'd think I'd called his wife a whore, his kid a bastard and told him he had a tiny dick the way he put me down.

Maybe all you folks that provide link after link of these stories to our forum would care to shoot send some emails to the local channels. Might be interesting to post up what was sent to who, and IF, there were responses from the likes of the talking heads? We know for G-D sure that the dim "Representatives" pay no heed to anything sent to them!

The problem is, there is more than one problem.
Mainly lies in enforcement. In another thread I posted a recent felon arrested while in possession of a loaded AR15 with 100 drum, pistol, body armor, drugs near Mall 205. Released on his own recognizance. Zero bail. Multiple offenses. Any one of those items should have seen him jailed for some time.

I don't think guns are the problem. The court system needs to have a few of it's own behind bars for dereliction of duty. They are releasing dangerous people into the community when given the chance to keep the chillins, safe.

…something "reported" does not mean it's accurate. That dispatch code likely covers many reported events that were not shots fired.

Spin, spin, spin. This is why our society is so polarized.

This ^^ is exactly what I'm talking about. Maybe if all three main nightly news channels reported the above on screen, on the 4-5-and 6:00pm news broadcasts? You know? That... "We're working for you" baloney?

And these guys got $1.5M bail for selling mushrooms (legalized):

Horror of horrors - can't have people selling mushrooms!

What a danger to society! :s0001:

Yet violent and non-violent crime is way way down.. because defunded police only rolls on hate crimes or spotted owls. same thing really

Not that I agree with it, but I thought illicit drugs were no longer illegal in Oregon. I don't have any love for drug abuse and would love to see a "common sense" approach to enforcement.

They more or less are not illegal, if you have the license to sell, pay the tax, and otherwise jump thru the hoops (I think the ability to sell hasn't gone into effect yet for 'shrooms).

Being libertarian, I believe in the right of a person to ingest & possess whatever substances they want to (with possible restrictions on NBC weapons because those need special storage/care to not endanger others).

The way I would setup the law/regs/rules would be that you can buy/sell pretty much anything as/to a consenting adult, as long as you adhered to the truth in labeling laws and did not adulterate the substances (e.g., you did not add fentanyl to the some other drug without telling the buyer that you added fentanyl and exactly how much).

I would still get a prescription for most of my meds, but there would be others that I would buy (if I could - from a pharmacy) to have on hand just in case of an emergency - most doctors will not give you a script for such things as "just in case".

Magic 'shrooms would not be one of those items that I would buy. I don't take substances just to change my mood or to have an "altered state" of mind - that includes alcohol and THC.

...its almost as if high crime is what the progressive left wants.
Of course that is what they want. The more civil unrest the more the sheeple (which totally outnumber us) clamor for more protection ... provided, of course, by the only "proper and civilized" source of a solution ... the Government.

It's an out and out power grab, the technique taken straight out of the Communist Manifesto and the Maoist/Stalinist playbooks, as well as the National Socialists (NAZIs).

This is exactly what progressives want, and they don't give a damn the damage they inflict just so long as they stay in power.

We obviously need more laws and bigger government because things are horrible. It's really rather simple.
