Are those plates AR500 steel? I wonder if that coating will absorb any frags? I shoot AR500 plates and have seen frames and chains destroyed from bullet splash.

Theyre not ar500. I remember reading that. If those have their extra anti spawl coating. It's supposed to deal with fragmentation well...says the internet.

You have to look for what they call spawl pad I bought them for mine there not that exspesive it's just like 5 or 6 layers of Kevlar in a cover you put it on the outside of the plates it catches the frags
