He means his modern REPRODUCTION of an 1885 rifle. If it was made before 1898, isn't it considered antique and therefore not subject to firearms rules? Or something?

Correct, but this was because healthcare was the big talking point back then. Nowhere in Obama's proposals did he say he was going to straight up come after semi autos. Look at Biden's gun control plan. Straight up puts it in clear legible writing on his website. They had all three with Obama and, outside of ruining healthcare, did nothing.
Except transgendered bathrooms.
He'll forget about it next week , it's his puppeteers that will keep it up.Correct, but this was because healthcare was the big talking point back then. Proof? The assault weapons import ban was Bush Sr., abd Ronald Regan said no one needs an Ak 47 and passed the Mulford Act, and current many republican are going along with red flag laws (including the NRA) wake up from your ignorance before they take more from us.
Well obviously that doesn't apply to this reproduction cartridge rifle with commonly available ammo cause it requires a FFL to sell it and a BGC to take possession. If it was made before 1898, isn't it considered antique and therefore not subject to firearms rules? Or something?
Yup in the Harris/Biden administration there'll be no tolerance for any uprising, comply or be assigned to a re-education camp...
Correct- We are suddenly about to get an earful about "law and order" from the Dems. Forget what you witnessed all last summer.
Even though the ballot measures were struck down, the legislature still tried to cram it through anyway in spite of the will and clear voice of conservative base. The only reason it and other heinous bills didn't go through is because the republicans walked out and denied quorum. There are only so many close calls before luck runs out. The last couple years have been a little too close for comfort. But there will still be people within the gun community who will say "It doesn't affect my guns so it's not my problem". Nobody should be comfortable with how close it's been the last 4 years, nor should the be comfortable with the emboldened power trips and oppression of rights that are coming in the next 4 years. You can't appease a rabid dog by feeding him your hand. He's going to want your arm, too...Oregon is a blue state but when it comes to guns it's a bit more nuance then that. A lot of hippies and hipsters that are into the outdoor scene recognize the gun as a tool for "rugged individualism" and that is useful to them. I Think this is why no private sales was passed but any ban on assault weapons or magazines have been struck down (that couples with a large conservative base in the state).
Buying more, training more, building more, reloading more, and most important is, that, other than here, I am talking much less. Which is to say, not much at all.
It doesn't matter, anything you've already said will be used against you. Currently your ex-girlfriends from jr high are being interviewed.

Unless there is some other "mass event" 6 months from now when the sky does not fall, we should see FAR better prices. Many seem to not be able to remember this latest panic is not even a year old yet. Joe will be in, the bluster will stop, people will go back to sleep. Only good part of that is pipe line will fill back up.If people think ammo prices are high now wait 6 more months.
Buy away! This is the same situation as 92' when Clinton took office. Midterms are coming in 21 months..I'm guessing the house flips red..
The sunset clause - they learned from that, they will not repeat that mistake the next time. The AWB was signed in '94. Our only reprieve from it was the sunset clause...a DECADE LATER.
10 FRIGGIN YEARS!!
Sadly when we get more laws they may not Grandfather stuff this time. The 94 ban was a waste of time due to the clause. As more states put in new laws you see little of this. Feds will be far less likely to let stuff slide either unless a lot of gun owners wake up and start to care. The sunset clause - they learned from that, they will not repeat that mistake the next time.
