The article writer is correct. I think most gun owners have long been skeptical of the "we're not coming for your guns" line. I would guess that many non-gun owners believed it. But with Beto saying on stage in the debates that the goal is confiscation, even the non-gun owners (and weirdly, there are 2A supporters who don't own guns) are going to see the truth.

The commenter actually reinforces the confiscatory policy position by noting that it might not happen today, but 10 years down the road it could. Whenever Antis whine about how X piece of legislation is not a slippery slope and only an idiot would think so, the commenter actually shows that what they are shooting for, IS a slippery slope. The end of that slope is the end of private ownership of all firearms.

I tend to believe that Beta's main reason for existence on the Dem stage is to muddy the waters and be a distraction. I also believe that the reason he continues to allow himself to be a useful idiot is because he loves the attention.

However, I'm starting to wonder...
When Kamela Harris said she would ban guns by EO, an unlikely voice of reason (Biden) informed her that she can't do that because, u know... Constitution.

She giggled her sizable badonk-a-donk off at the silly old white man and said, "Instead of saying we can't, let's say we CAN!"*.

Was she saying F The Constitution? Does she think we're electing a Queen? Or is she just regurgitating a line from Obama's campaign for a cheap applause break?

No matter, really. What I'm getting at is the fact that O'Rourke's forced compliance rhetoric is not at the extreme end of the Dems' respective platforms, it's right in line with the rest of them.

My relatives in the Soviet Union became criminals when they secretly started practicing Judaism. That was considered by the Communist government to be a threat to the security and soveriegnty of the State and was effectively banned. All religious artifacts were confiscated and Rabbis and others who continued to practice the banned religion were imprisoned and sent to gulags (slave labor camps).

When the government decides without any constitutional decree what should be banned they tend to ban whatever is within their power to ban if it is consider a threat to their power.

It was illegal at one time for a Jew in Germany not to wear a yellow patch on his clothing. A crime.

By the way, Beto O'Rourke utterly hates Jews and even talked about declaring war on Israel and teaching "the Jews" a lesson with what he calls "their greed and warmongering" if he is elected president.
