"who appears not to be motivated by religious extremism,"

I guess that depends on what you want to believe, the source I showed said he was. I don't know one way or the other but that leak sounds pretty solid to me. I do believe islam is responsible for many outrages like this one, and that fits real well.

I'll need some more solid confirmation before I accept that theory. Of course it's possible, but I haven't seen evidence yet that convinces me.

One huge question for me on the supposed White House leak is this - why would the Trump administration cover up any evidence of an ISIS link? Trump ran on and continues to reinforce America first, fight terrorism and border security. If this guy really is ISIS, it would be a huge benefit to Trump's war on terrorism. It just makes no sense they would cover up information that would benefit their political position.

Now Obama? If he were still POTUS it would benefit him to hide an ISIS link since he was so fond of telling us terrorist attacks on US soil were not a problem.

As to the tannerite to blow the tanks, I got this from a retired cop;
"they are self sealing with an inner and outer wall and a foam filled bladder in between. We had HUGE fuel tanks in Viet Nam and were within rocket range from VC territory and they never seemed to be able to blow one up."

Keep in mind with all of these "theories" there are very little facts at all. Hundreds of rounds fired at a crowd. A single dead body found in the room with a lot of guns and 2 broken windows. It would be really nice to see some high quality sound waveform analysis that could accurately identify the weapons heard on all the videos. It should at the minimum determine if it was a SAW or similar or a bump stock. The curious public should be demanding the release of all available info as soon as possible. Withholding videos inside the casino of a single man entering the room and nobody else entering or leaving does not threaten a criminal investigation. If it shows more people, then there is reason to. If the video(or likely small segments) is released months later showing only 1 man, then the reason they are giving now for withholding it is disingenuous. Similar to the FBI investigating TWA flight 800 for over a year, not letting the NTSB(plane crash EXPERTS) full access to the evidence, only for the FBI to declare it was a mechanical problem and not a missile(ie they should have let the NTSB investigate from the start if there was nothing to hide)

What if Steven Paddock was the gun running version of Barry Seal????

What if he was gun running to the Phillipines or elsewhere, and our government was funding him...

Could explain the lack of real background and motive...

I'm going back to my Bad Santa's now, because I'm a holiday beer junkie...

Edited to correct the incorrect autocorrection

Your not going to blow up a jet fuel storage tank with a rifle of that was the case every airport in the world would be a problem

So new news today or yesterday he shot the security guard before he let loose on the concert mmmmm DOES ANY BODY REMEMBER THE MIKE BENNETT THING? Yep that's right a call to 911 about a shooting at a casino WHO MADE THAT CALL ? Could it have been someone who wanted to see how long it takes the police to react to a shooting in a packed casino ! Mmmmmm let's say I'm crazy but not that crazy so a month before I plan to do something I do a dry run stand in front of a casino on a fight night lots of people call 911 say shots fired and start my stop watch mmmmm how long does it take to get 5 cops to get there on a busy night ?

Did a bit of searching online - at the moment it appears the story of the security guard being arrested as an accomplice is only being reported on that CNN International link. I can't believe other outlets aren't reporting such a huge revelation. Any chance this might be bogus?

I was doing the same thing , with the same results............ nothing.

That's exactly why I do searches before I buy into stories like that. Way too often a single source is cited, with no cross references. Too many hoaxes out there, and I hate getting sucked into them. Thus my tendency to be very skeptical of unsubstantiated claims/stories. The fact that this was reported by only one site should have been a tip-off.

I'm skeptical. The URL doesn't match the URL provided in the wikipedia entry for CNN International Edition: CNN International - Wikipedia (see the right hand side gray sidebar listing URLs).

Secondly, I looked at a different story on the site -- it is written with a style you'd expect in Daily Mail or NY Post and the bolded sentence below doesn't even seem to be written by an English speaking person, although his name is Dean Dwyer:

SIX individuals have been murdered and no less than 48 harmed after three fear based oppressors cut down walkers on London Bridge and afterward went on a wounding frenzy.

A van was seen furrowing into people on foot at London Bridge before proceeding to the close-by Borough Market.

Three fear mongers — reportedly wearing cut evidence vests — then risen up out of the van and started the wounding assault. Witnesses report seeing a portion of the casualties had their throats cut.
Six people dead and dozens hurt in London terror attack

Ah, so it's the Russians...

Maybe, I looked up the host for cnn-internationaledition.com -- it is a single IPv4 address 109.73.230.119 (cnn.com has four IPv4 addresses and four IPv6 addresses). The whois info for that address is

"Your not going to blow up a jet fuel storage tank with a rifle of that was the case every airport in the world would be a problem"

Yeah, a problem if it included 70 pounds of tannerite and even half a brain knowing how to direct the bast.
