556 soft point in a sub 10.3in barrel

Traditionally a DI under 10in isnt as reliable

First time hearing this honestly. I've seen tons of them. All that I've seen function flawlessly.

There is a Adam's Arms piston 7.5" upper in the classifieds if that is of interest.

I've HEARD of it but I've never experienced it. I think it may be an overblown issue that doesn't affect most quality builds.

Just an FYI, the 62 gr "Green Tip" M-855 don't like short barrels at all, they do all sorts of funky stuff when they hit, very un reliable!

It was designed for a 20" M16 barrel, even the 14.5" M4 is questional, MK18...forget about it.

They can be made to function reliably but reliable ballistics is another matter.

I like 77 stmk bullets out of the shorter spouts. They are perfect for 10.5"- 12.5" barrels but I think the would be fine to 100 in an even shorter barrel. I would definitely test any bullet you choose for a short barrel to check for proper performance.
