I think that terrestrial radio is a dying format, and I left it to die long ago. Smart phone and computer Apps like I Heart Radio, TuneIn, iTunes Podcasts, and the rest have given all radio listeners a free method of listening to all of their favorite content without choosing between one station or the other (at a time of your choosing); with added functions like Pause, Rewind, and Fast Forward. Slap a Bluetooth in your car (or just wear your buds), and its as simple as listening to broadcast. The added benefit is that you can also listen to people who aren't available in the local market, or some who do podcasts only (like my perennial favorite Adam Carolla).
The more we switch to selecting our content from a menu on our phone, and only returning if we are happy with the performance, the less we are at the mercy of some stations corporate team deciding what flavor of radio we all have to eat.

probably because they didn't want a lying, non-trusting, money hungry scam artist, who likes to cause fear in society for his own profitable good. Maybe Glenn Beck some day will actually have to work and know what its like to actually work and "be" one of those guys in the middle class. You people that look up to these media types seem to be pretty educated and/or reasonably intelligent........why do you listen to this fricken garbage?

why do you listen to this fricken garbage?

He's entertaining, funny, he does his homework, he stays current, he delivers news and current events in a way that doesn't smack the average person in the face like a sledgehammer or confound them to no end, he's a nice break from the rest of the dull and dry media, he's charismatic, he's passionate, he's unapologetically Christian, and at the end of the day, no matter what the critics say about him, the guy still gets up and has the courage to say what's on his mind and take some action. People like that inspire and give other people hope that they can do the same in their own way. So what if he's flawed or cries on the air... At least he feels something. It's better than being a bitter, cynical, all-talk-and-no-action, hater. jmo. And he may not swing a hammer, but the guy still works and takes a lot of bubblegum to earn his paycheck.

For entertainment purposes, Yes I can see that, but Bunny.....Do you have a crush on him? I'm just kidding, it was a very detailed answer.

I drive a dump truck for a living. I am also a bit of what people call an Audiophile (I take my music serious afterall I have 2600 LPs and a $2000.00 turntable I guess I should) so listening to music all day garbbled up with the noise of the truck and the job ain't going to happen. So I listen to talk. About 1/2 the time its NPR (I like knowing what the other side is thinking) I did listen to a little Beck but I don't like the people talking over people thing and I don't do religion so a lot of his stuff was to much for me. I listen to Lars if he has something worth talking about. But like anyone I also disagree with some of his crap. Like his going on about prevailing wage all the time.

As to the Beck replacement guy who knows sounds like he will be local themed which is good in some ways. LOTS of crap to listen to on the dial I am sure I'll find something. I'm also sure I won't miss Beck much.

I don't like Beck. I like a lot of his ideas but I just don't care for him as a radio personality. Same with Rush Limbaugh, a pompous blowhard. I do like Lars and listen to him when I can.

Fixed it for you. ;)

Nope, don't have a crush on Glenn. Not into criers. :p I take what Glenn says with a grain of salt and just enjoy waking up to their jokes and social/political sarcasm instead of real in-your-face news. Not ready for that until I've had my coffee. :)

I like the fact that he does his homework and is a fan of history and the founding fathers. Does he go a little overboard sometimes? Yeah, but I can handle that. It doesnt' even begin to balance the scale.

Big balloons of hot gas are inexpensive and give the same content as Mr. Beck. He knows about the Founding Fathers about what a 4th grader knows, then twists it around. Good riddance.

You mean Glen " my dog died and now I trust in Goldline to keep me alive, Obama is a muslim who wants to eat your babies but you can stop that by purchasing Life Lock, the NSA is watching your every move but you can hide in your Liberty Safe" Beck? That Glen Beck?

I think Beck is awesome ! Watch the Blaze every day. I little melodramatic at times, but that's just him I guess. As far as commercials, it takes money to run any studio. What do ya expect.....

I didnt mind his show, though a fan of history he would bend the truth* to make his points at times.

*the only example I can recall was that he claimed that a Socialist assassinated President McKinley, and that is not true.

They got rid of Beck in my area about two years ago and replaced him with The Dave Ramsey Show:rolleyes:. I can't think of any big name national conservative talkers that I can stomach so I gave up. I listen to Adam Corolla and Tom Leykis or just music now.

The "conservatives" are all neo-con bro banksters, not paleo conservatives like yours truly... so I despise them as much as you do
