I carried a 1911A1 in Central/South American jungles, and Europe back in the mid/late 80's... I remember the big rage/fad of the Army wanting to go over to 9mm from 45ACP (I even bought my own Italian made 92F to train with), and it was all because of "standardizing" the ammo throughout the NATO members... everyone else should have switched to the 45ACP, because its like hitting a person with a small car when you're on target. ;)

I have a pretty nice Ithaca 1911A1 (National Match), but I carry a Glock-30 for my CCW :s0155:

Another thing that is strikingly evident about Glocks, as well as any other successful product, is that many people will hate them based on nothing more than their overwhelming success. In short, they hate them because so many others like them. You see it all the time in the "arguments" they give against the weapon.

Instead of simply saying they don't prefer it, they feel this primal need to attack it. It's often proven in the foolishness of their arguments, along with how they will flock to Glock threads like flies to dog crap, and immediately start their anti Glock tirades. They then wonder why satisfied owners, (who they instantly call "fanboys"), get so upset with their bogus nonsense they post. If they correct them all they are then doing is "drinking the Kool-Aid". I've always found it to be funny how someone who doesn't own one, feels they can educate someone who does. All done for no other reason other than to incite arguments. Go to many of the Glock forums and look at how many banned members they have. Most all of them are anti Glock trolls looking for an argument from satisfied owners who want nothing more than to happily discuss and enjoy their favorite pistols.

For the love of God himself, they just can't seem to leave it alone. A bit like a socialist hating a conservative millionaire because he has it, and they don't. I'm trying to understand why a person who hates Glocks, and doesn't and wouldn't own one, would want to participate in a thread or forum about them? They wouldn't go on a Toyota forum if they drove a Ford, but they'll happily jump right into a Glock thread with both feet, just so they can start their bashing. As I said, if Glocks were not so successful, most wouldn't bother. But because they are, it draws them like mosquitoes to sweaty flesh. Bill T.

For once I agree with BillT. And it works both ways. I see the 1911 vs. Glock bashing just like the Ford vs. Chevy bashing that's been going on for years.

I love my 1911s. But, I suppose that if I'd have made the choice to buy that Glock nearly 20 years ago, I'd love my Glocks!

Have to say though, it's kinda funny watching either "side" when they get worked up. Usually all valid reasons aren't mentioned, and the "rational" is pretty twisted!:s0155:

Seriousally? Your gonna bring this up AGAIN? Let it die man.....

Seriously, I'm not the guy who needs to "let it die". Bill T.

Ummm, yeah YOU need to "let it die", after all you're the one that resurrected the thread.:s0013:

There are multiple Glock Forums? What goes on over there? I know there aren't trouble shooting threads since everyone know there has never been any problem with a Glock EVER. So I can only assume, it's just a bunch of fanboys telling each other how great each other's Glocks are.:s0112:

I guess the guys that have an opinion that isn't "Glocks are the end all, do all, for everybody for every task" get kicked off, until they learn to "drink the kool-aid".:s0058:

Thanks for proving my point. You've done it better than I could ever hope to. Bill T.

I think your "point" is that you'll keep resurrecting this thread until you've convinced everyone that Glocks are the best, and anyone that isn't a fanboy is an illogical dunder head that only hates Glock because because (deep down) they know the ARE the greatest thing ever.:s0045:

Seriously, my only "hate" towards Glock is actually at the "glockheads". You know the one's that have only owned a G22, a "tacticool" 10/22 and a Tapco'd out SKS that pollute the internets with garbage like they store their Glocks in a sandy mud hole with a deuce and a half parked on top of it, because that's how they perform best, or at least that was something they read on the internet.:s0112:

No you don't. Stop proving it. Bill T

Nice argument, now I no longer think Glock fanboys are "know it all" jackwagons.:s0132:

I'm trying to figure out why a guy from Arizona would go to a gun forum located in (and catering to) the NORTHWEST, that only seems to be interested in insulting the intelligence of people that don't care for Glocks, in this thread, would bring up "Trolls" on Glock sites.

Or why that same guy would resurrect a thread, after it's been dead for a week, just to say the same things he's already said.
:s0051:.

BTW, this thread IS titled "Why do so many people hate Glocks".

I wasn't a fan of glock because of the grip angle and that they stove pipe when limp wristed. Then the 3rd gen came along, now I own 3. They are good, but not perfect.
