Keep it! Is it pre-electronic ignition? If so, can be a post-EMP bug-out truck...Thoughts?
I believe so! Kinda my thoughts. Thinking about doing a small block or LS swap.. lolKeep it! Is it pre-electronic ignition? If so, can be a post-EMP bug-out truck...
I used to have both an '89 Mazda B2200 and an '87 S-10 w/4.3 & 700R4....I kept the Mazda.Used my tow pig/Daily (first pic) to buy vehicles I can flip.
Bought this sweet little S-15 Gmc Sonoma with a 4.3L v6, was a theft recovery. Needs a new ignition and 3 windows. Might end up keeping this one!
Last pic was it before getting stolen. This will take me up to 3 vehicles, darn. Thoughts?

Both great trucks! Just got it to fire up today with a new ignition!I used to have both an '89 Mazda B2200 and an '87 S-10 w/4.3 & 700R4....I kept the Mazda.
The S10 was pure fun to bury the go pedal with and the factory stock am/fm/cassette RAWKED, but servicing it was a nightmare, comparitively.
I saw the engine in your pics and cringed at the thought of changing spark plugs in it.
I'm too old to be putting up with that pissing match anymore.
On the other hand, the Mazda was reliable and returned good fuel mileage. The S10 went to a fireman who had a 16 year-old son with a fresh new driver's license.
I kept the Mazda for almost 21 years.
Yeah unfortunately , unless I went with a old school small block Chevy motor!Ryan I think the 4.3 V-6 is plenty hot enough and I would use it if possible, LS Swap would require a computer right? Still could be a Bug out vehicle, but a full on computer taints it some.
Reminds me of the time I found a 1961 Austin Healy Sprite for sale.I bought this to fix up and flip, but I fell in love. I look like Donkey Kong in MarioKart when I'm driving it…. But how else do you survive a midlife crisis?
