Used my tow pig/Daily (first pic) to buy vehicles I can flip.
Bought this sweet little S-15 Gmc Sonoma with a 4.3L v6, was a theft recovery. Needs a new ignition and 3 windows. Might end up keeping this one!
Last pic was it before getting stolen. This will take me up to 3 vehicles, darn. Thoughts?

I used to have both an '89 Mazda B2200 and an '87 S-10 w/4.3 & 700R4....I kept the Mazda.
The S10 was pure fun to bury the go pedal with and the factory stock am/fm/cassette RAWKED, but servicing it was a nightmare, comparitively.
I saw the engine in your pics and cringed at the thought of changing spark plugs in it.
I'm too old to be putting up with that pissing match anymore.
On the other hand, the Mazda was reliable and returned good fuel mileage and never failed to haul anything I put in it.
The S10 went to a fireman who had a 16 year-old son with a fresh new driver's license.
I kept the Mazda for almost 21 years.

Both great trucks! Just got it to fire up today with a new ignition!

Ryan I think the 4.3 V-6 is plenty hot enough and I would use it if possible, LS Swap would require a computer right? Still could be a Bug out vehicle, but a full on computer taints it some.

Screw the computer!
Drop a 650 double pumper on an Eddy intake and change the timing cover to accept HEI.....or better yet....MAGNETO!
BWAH-HA-HA-HA-HA!!!
WHAAAAAAAA-HHHHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

OK, not being the motorhead that all y'all are, WTF is an LS swap? o_O

Limited Slip?
Light Saber?
Long Snap?
Luxury Sedan?
Lake Stevens?
Louisville Slugger?
Logistics Specialist?
Landing Site?

LS is the series of motor made by GM that replaced the original small block Chevy.
They're very popular because, in pretty much stock form, they make magnitudes more power than the original small block did.

I did not know that. Thank you for that, Dean. Much obliged.

I was never that much of a motorhead in JHS/HS. I didn't buy my first car until the summer out of high school (my first vehicle in HS was a motorcycle).
My first car was a 10-year-old, rear-quarter-panel-rotted-out, '69 Pontiac Catalina, in which I removed the 2-bbl carb and replaced it with a 6-pack.
Afterwards, that thing drank so much gas, you could watch the needle drop in real time while going down the highway!
That 6-pack also destroyed several lifters as a result. After limping home with the thing rattling like a maraca, I put the 2-bbl back on.
That was my sole introduction to motoheadin'. After that, I stuck to stock and just did LOFs and changed out points, rotor, and condenser, and set timing.
Aaaaaaahhh, the good ol' days...

You play stupid, but you know far more than you let on, Sobo.
I see what you're doing. Very clever.
Substituting Chrysler Speak for Pontiac Speak, because you already know what BLASPHEMI that is amongst the motoring culturalists.
Touche, Mr. Sobo, touche. Just remember...which great knowledge comes great responsibility. Please use it wisely. o_O

I bought this to fix up and flip, but I fell in love. I look like Donkey Kong in MarioKart when I'm driving it…. But how else do you survive a midlife crisis?

I bought her a couple years ago from good friend and fellow NWFAer @Lexingtonuninc . It was his wife's car but she stopped driving it several years ago in favor of more room, and more comfort. I'm still working on replacing the girly bedazzling she did to it. Lots of chrome that still needs subdued.
It had less than 70k miles, but since it sat for several years… It was in need of love. We had to get a new battery before even firing it up… Tires, tune up, belts, filters, when we got her home... It was also running super rough… it ended up needing a new coil pack, and most recently the TPS. The only PITA issue I had to deal with was top…whomever replaced the top last, didn't install the rain rail… which, to be fair, is only necessary if it rains.
:s0108: Ya..It got very wet inside. That said there was VERY little damage. Mazda did a good job sealing the floor to prevent rust. The interior is still excellent. Looks incredible for a 25 years old. There was only a couple panels on the back dash that rusted out(fuel tank access) but they are easily replaceable. The top itself on the other hand, was an absolute B!+C# to replace.
I had to put a couple grand into getting her to where she is now… and I have my eye on several more moneys worth of turbo, suspension, etc…

The most important addition has been the shift knob. My daughter pointed it out when we were at costless one day.I bought it as a joke… I had recently turned 44 at the time and joking around about the coincidence I started referring to the car as MAG… which naturally evolved to Maggie. Now Maggie is family.

Reminds me of the time I found a 1961 Austin Healy Sprite for sale.
It was rough, but I loved it.
Everything about it said "Boy Racer".
Stipped to the bones, it was so simple. So Pure.
I got in it. It still had that "English Sportscar" smell.
...then I looked up, only to see the top frame of the windshield right at eye level....and it was at that point, I knew it would never be mine. :(
