The ATF considers volley fire firearms shoots multiple rounds at the same time as legal as considers it as one shot much like a shotgun. These are things like the side by side 1911s, 22 revolver, side by side ar15s.

What happens when I get pulled over carrying my side by side 1911 with two 10 round magazines under the current magazine bans in the liberal states? Since it is considered as one shot would it not be considered a magazine of 10 rounds even though the total capacity is 20 rounds? The magazines you would be in procession of are 10 rounders per the law, it is just that the firearm takes multiple magazines to run. It would be like saying you can't have shotguns as each shell shoots 10's of pellets.

Of course this is a CRAZY hypothetical, but it points to a possible loop hole and an opening for some crazy firearms design as a side by side 1911 isn't practical :p. Ideally Ninth/Supreme Court doesn't stomp on the magazine bans going forward, but there is a movement going saying that magazines are not considered protected and if that is upheld nationally...
