Well, I don't know if any of the rest of you happened to be sitting in on the Town Hall conference call tonight with Jaime Herrera Beutler, but I had my blood pressure go up 20 points when a Camas High School girl got on the call. She proceeded to berate Beutler for her voting record on guns, being cold for not offering condolences for the shooting victims in Florida, and demanding what she was going to do about the easy availability of assault military weapons on the street that no one has any business owning, bump stocks... on and on and on.

Our youth consider social media and sound bites to be factual sources of information and are parroting the anti-gun rhetoric that has been spoon fed to them for years and with a vengeance over the last few months. Some years ago I read how town halls were staged to get the right outcome, just like the CNN one was in Florida. Even your meetings at city hall are staged with people put in the right places saying the right things to get their way. The public is manipulated if they watch.

I know. I'm the last ten years here in Washington it's been a nightmare for assaults on guns and our rights. One thing that never gets brought up is enforcing the laws that are already written to curtail crime. Writing laws to say murder is already illegal but one cannot kill another with "that gun" is insanely moronic to say the least. ...

I have told my Reps repeatedly that "they" cannot protect the population with laws that ARE NOT ENFORCED and any new law's will be treated the same. There ought to be a law that protects citizens from legislators that are insistent to restricting inalienable rights!!! Oh wait there is but it's being infringed.

I have personally written to her on the subject and I was encouraged and inspired by her response. The congresswoman is going to need our support in the coming election. A vote for Jaime Herrera Beutler is a vote to defend the Second Amendment.

I agree 100% she is the first person I have actually contributed money to. She answers my letters and emails and is a staunch supporter of the second amendment. Her name was on concealed carry reciprocity as a co-sponsor early.

She is also pro-business and anti-corruption. She has a great record. She had a great heart for our community.

She corrected the young lemming in a couple of her comments (that Jamie hadn't expressed condolences about the Parkland shooting and that the CDC is prohibited from conducting studies that involve gun violence), and spoke about the fact that she defends the 2A, but that in all cases including the Parkland shooting, if the existing system was working correctly, the shooter would have been dealt with long before he became a killer. She was very polite to the mindless youngster.... Listening the her response, I realized why I will never be a politician. I would have said something along the lines of: "You dumbass little bubblegum.... first get your facts straight before you come onto a town hall forum and make a certainty of the question as to whether or not you're an idiot".....

Yeah...I am not gonna get elected with that, huh?

Glad for the response that she made to the ''brat'' these people who are responding at these meetings are cherry picked for questions and answers. What Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutle might have thought to say is.

We will be issuing clear backpacks, there WILL be searches of other types of book carrying devices. Everyone will have photo ID on a neck chain, and we will be placing armed security at all entrances, as well as all students will be wearing same style, colored school uniforms./Random searches of wall lockers will be done by a random drawn number system, your # comes up, your locker will be searched. You will also be subject to dog searches in all lockers and student cars in student parking. Your saftey is one of our priorities.
