Sharing this info. My extractor in my Hi Power broke (shot great before that). Internal extractors are very difficult to find.

I came across these guys today

He will custom make parts off of old guns that you cant find anymore.

Another recommendation. Dont take apart a CZ82 unless you know what you are doing. The hammer mechanism alone is a freakin rubix cube. Once the hammer parts fell out along with a tiny spring I knew I was screwed. I dont think I'll be shooting this thing any time soon :)

Ouch....

Also, I've put my C&R to good use over the past few weeks. Ordered a Tula Hex 91/30 with a laminated stock and an old Chinese Type 56 SKS from Classic Firearms, both are great guns!

If I hadnt bought 2 other guns this week I'd go for one of these at AIM

(they are not yet searchable on the main site. The link was emailed out to just C&R holders

Well that looks like a fun project to put back together. At least you'll know your gun well when you're done.

How do you get on that mailing list? Is it just automatic when you make a C&R purchase? Or can you request to get on the list?

Not sure if it is because I bought something from them already or uploaded my C&R copy. If you have your license I'd scan a signed copy and upload it to their site in the account section.

edit: that gun is sold out already :(

That's okay, I'm still waiting for my C&R. I expect to see it, hopefully, in the next week.

WooHoo - I'm an official 03 FFL! Got the paperwork today - just under a month since I applied. And now I have no money to buy anything! Oh well, maybe in a few months.

I got my catalogs from Jack First yesterday. The price alone is worth the 1000's of exploded diagrams since it is better referred to as a reference than a catalog. Great for a collector

I got my CZ82 back together. the seer spring alone took about 2 hours. I ended up having to make a tool out of some tiny brass tubing I had to get that damn spring in the right place.

Here is my C&R CZ 82.

Good shape and actually clean though the black paint was chipped badly (especially the other side)

got it disassembled. A few of the pins could not be removed. They Czech armory must have pinned them into place since I broke two punches trying to get them out. But it worked out. The hammer, auto safety, seer mechanism was crazy complex. took me 5 hours to get it back together, 2 hours just trying to get the seer spring back into place

Coated it using a aerosol duracoat can

Finally got some wood grips for it

Here is an actual quick question.

Why are the Romania TT-C always less expensive than the Polish or Yugoslavian ones?

Aim has them back in stock. $240 for the Romanian and $250 for the Polish.

JG has Romanian ones for $179

$200 for the Yugo ones

Same thing at other sites. Are the Romanian ones inferior quality?

That turned out really nice - well done.

Okay guys, so now that I have my license, I want to get my "bound book" set up before I make a purchase. I've been trying to find some kind of reference that gives guidance on the requirements for this book, but I seem to be having trouble locating that information - including among the FAQ's on the ATF site.

Is it truly nothing more than a bound notebook (spiral bound, etc.)? Is there a particular format I need to follow? What information is required to be recorded? If any of you could point me to a reference that calls this out, I would certainly appreciate it. Thanks!

I got the books from RK enterprises but did not end up using them. Its just a spiral bound book. A blank notebook would be fine
http://www.rkffl.com/Curio___Relic_Collector.html

But in their acquisition part of the book it lists the following columns:

Manufacturer/importer
model
serial number
type
caliber
date
Name and address or Name and FFL number

the disposition section has

Date
Name and address or FFL if they have one
Date of birth
DL number or other identification

Since Im collecting I decided on a nicer quality one off amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/BookFactory®-Leather-Bound-Relics-LOG-072-GUNCOLL-LKT39/dp/B000KFUGY0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1410041655&sr=8-2&keywords=collector bound book

I have a Polaroid camera that prints on that zink paper so I put photos of the guns I acquire right in the book

That's good information Bolus, thank you for that. I'll be sure to get one of those books myself, I like that idea.

Which brings a few more questions to mind. Do you record only firearms you acquired under your C&R, or do you use the book to record all your firearms? If I understand correctly, the bound book is supposed to be reserved for just your C&R purchases and disposal, but would it be a problem to record non-C&R items in the same book, just for your records? Or is it best (or required) to keep the two separate?

Just C&R purchases in one book. Get a second book for your other purchases. I would not combine them into one book. If the ATF asks to look at it, you dont want to confuse them with a bunch of non-C&R guns
