And more realistically, not even that. Notice how well total bans have kept heroin and meth off the streets. Any machinist knows that guns are fairly simple devices. Prohibition only serves to give a larger market to the criminal element to profit from and a worse clientele to supply.

Anyone who's studied a little world history knows how "safe", "peaceful" and "idyllic" the world was back when guns were kept off the street by not having been invented. Like with vaccinations, the effect of guns is not 100% all good but we actually DO know how the alternative works out from 6000 years of bloody, violent recorded history.
Anyway, we can't put the cat back in the bag.

To provide better context to what I said, an outright ban gives the gubermen more power (or in other words a monopoly on violence). It'd avoid this tragedy, but create a whole new tragedy considering the corruption in our government (remember Leland Yee?). Gangs and the like need not make their own when the government is all too willing to sell to them.

Rather than avoiding the tragedy the laws should focus on mitigation by either loosening up the regulations or outright do away with them. More regulation either increases the magnitude of the tragedies, or replace one with the other.

Mass shootings (while statistically irrelevant) are made worse when people aren't able to do anything in the moment. The guy who shot the shooter, for example, took too long to respond because he had to open his safe and load the magazine. The police took even longer.

What about fixing broken systems? What about holding individuals accountable for their actions? What about doing something about mental health other than to medicate?

What about restoring morals? Or values? Or value for human life?

Their only agenda is to disarm America. Feels soooo much like 1939 Europe to me....

Part of the problem with these shootings which I've said before is people can't handle losses in current society. Even small ones. Some loser can't stay in his lane and find the girl he really should be with and tries to keep the one he can't handle. Some so called religious "nut" won't stay in or move to where that religion is most prominent. Too many kids brains are so clouded with misinformation they don't work right. Children aren't adults but liberals try to convince them that they have the same rights and when that reality door slams on them they snap (not just guns but everything).

I've been beat up got bad car deals. Paid too much for things. But I learned to fight and get better with my money. Maybe people build a guilt complex when you convince them they are special when they're really just average.

I do agree with the idea that the general thoughts of " Everyone is a winner" or "The world thinks you are special"
etc... can cause far more trouble for folks , than the "good feelings" that they are supposed to promote.

Not coming in first place , realizing that the world does not revolve around you , that "fair" doesn't always equate to "equal" etc ... are important life lessons that , unfortunately are not being taught or shown as important , by many folks that are role models , parents and teachers.
Not saying that all of those three are remiss in their teachings.... Just as a whole it seems as if those life lessons are sadly lacking today.

Everytown has admitted they want our guns. They are the enemy. This admission is a bridge too far. At least we now have clarity on this - and any time a gun control advocate spews the lie of "no one is coming for your guns", shove this in their faces and call them out as the lying backstabbers they really are.
