In February, Coleman sold Cote an unregistered SKS rifle. Unregistered?

Deputies said they also found evidence that Coleman was illegally dealing anabolic steroids. So not meth.

Unfortunately the Restraining Order wasn't served, because, you know. Paper.

I'm pretty sure all things considered the RO would have made zero difference. Label this dead killer a felon. Looks like background checks and restraining orders work AS LONG AS YOU DON'T HAVE CRIMINAL INTENTIONS. Oregon gun transfer laws and now red flag laws didn't work. Again. Perhaps if this woman could have been convinced to obtain better means to protect herself this might have been prevented.

So, was the rifle a personally owned firearm not part of inventory, entered into the FFL bound book? And "Registered" WTF does that mean? Oh, yea, OryGun State Police maintains an illegal gun registry! Yea, And Marion County? Something don't quite add up here, not with the current Sheriff in the top office!

Not a fan of how this article is written (what's new), however if the facts are remotely true and he sold a rifle to a prohibited person that used it to murder someone, he deserves to go away for a LONG time. My suspicion is he had a hunch the guy would not pass.
