Sturm, Ruger & Co. Inc. has gone all in on its support of the National Rifle Association's legislative agenda, pledging to provide up to $5 million that includes donations from guns sold through the November general election.
The company, which has 315 employees at its Mayodan production plant, began its prepared second-quarter comments to analysts and investors Wednesday with the Ruger Take Action campaign.
Michael Fifer, who on Tuesday announced plans to step down as chief executive next May, described the campaign as a challenge grant to benefit the NRA's Institute for Legislative Action. Ruger said it will donate $2 from every gun sale to the institute.
