My boys and I have nerf wars in the house since the mom is on Active duty and away for the time being.....its world war three in the house ...I prefer the N strike rapid fire CS20....my one son uses the Raider Cs35 and the other uses a The Vulcan belt fed...
its fun till we have to pick them up....
But my boys are both 8 (yes their twins) and have learned and know and practice safe handling of real firearms. They know the diference and never touch any firearm unless they have my permission.... its all about personel responsiblity that alot of people now days forget or over look to teach....but again nerf wars are fun....

My brother and I used to beat each other with sticks while sword fighting, full on beat downs. Neither one of us would have ever used a real one on each other.

We also had a circular driveway that we would ride opposite directions around and joust each other.

Great times.

I believe it's a matter of education and parental responsibility. The difference between a toy and a real firearm, as a child they should be able to shoot there brother with a foam dart and understand it's a toy and fun. Don't put a stigma on gun toys expecting your chlidren can't figure out the difference. It is up to the parent to teach the difference between a toy gun and a real gun. If your not up to the task I would suggest you get rid of all the real guns in your home and let the boys enjoy the toy guns.

It is just that simple, I knew as a child the difference, I raised children and they know know the difference.
