This is a fairly specific question but I figured I'd float it out there and maybe someone has a Tacoma and has figured out a good solution already....

I need a pistol vault storage solution for a 2011 Toyota Tacoma, Ext Cab. Whatever I do needs to be able to hold a full size 1911. Also note that there is a raised ledge underneath each seat at the front. So a lock box won't slide in and out easily from the front and would have to be be jockeyed over the ledge...and there's not a ton of room between the ledge and the seat adjustment lever. Realistically, whatever I do is probably going to have to go in back of the seats (in the ext cab portion) and/or slide under the seat from the back and not the front.

I'm looking for something that would be easy to get to get to and still be accessible from the drivers seat. It also needs to be relatively concealed. I've seen folks mount things next to the transmission hump but I'm not sure how you conceal that other than throwing a towel over it or something...which is usually pretty obvious that there's something of value there.

It needs to be somewhat substantial. I'm aware that there are a ton of clam shell type lock boxes in the $20-$50 range, but was looking for something a step or two above that. I recognize the inherent limitations of a small lock box that is cabled to a seat bracket or similar. Anyone with enough time will likely be able to defeat the setup. But I'd like to make it a little harder to do that than just by using a screwdriver.

So here's what I'm looking at so far. Right now I'm probably leaning toward the Shot Lock box as it seems a good compromise between quality and price. But again, I'm wondering what others have done and if anyone has come up with any other creative ideas...or if there's another vault I should be looking at.

Console Vault: This would probably be the most elegant solution since it fits in the console without modification and is easily accessible. Problem is that I don't think the vault is big enough for a full size 1911.

Fort Knox: This one is too big for under the seat so it would have to go somewhere else

mount a retension holster to a small block of wood aprox. ssame size as ledge. use velcro underneath block to hold to carpet so it wont slide back further under seat.
