By all means don't wave the property taxes the owners of the place pays though. State will still expect that paid. Not to mention the mortgages, that of course is still to be paid by that magic money.
The message is clear.

YOU pay the property tax. So that others....can get a FREE RIDE with their rent. Equity......under Brandon (and his followers).

Aloha, Mark

Just make sure that all the wiring and build materials are up to code and your fire insurance covers rebuild cost..... Many of the ****heads are smokers who leave lit butts around the house.....

Which they can legally do as soon as the non cash flow receiving owner fails to pay property taxes. They can also outright seize it for the betterment of the community in some cases without reimbursement. I don't think Fuhrer Brausn would flinch at outright seizure for the public good in order to provide "housing for the needy (AKA vote D forever). You have to know that even the landlords that make it through this intact won't vote D or any other Socialist party from this point onward, so no downside for pissing them off.

Amazingly the use of imminent domain laws aren't used a bunch here in Oregon. That I am aware of.
However I feel that is about to change. The stage is being set for it. The wonderful thing is government housing is never as nice as privately owned and managed properties. As usual the private sector does a better job than the public sector. The fun part is the dirt bags don't mind a chit hole if it's free.

This whole thing wreaks and should be put down quickly.

They can fix that too with some legislation that shields renters previous rental history from landlords. It wouldn't surprise me. I would seriously be looking at selling if I was a landlord in todays world.
You already can't ask if a person is a felon

WA has danced around this and it of course failed. There is a LOT, and do mean a LOT, of BIG money in rentals. A LOT of the people pushing the scum also have money in higher end rental so it would be a VERY uphill battle to get them to let the scum in. WA did a while back try to force Section 8. Since many would no longer take it. One guy said a common solution was simple. To take a section 8 place had to pass an inspection. So owner goes in and makes sure something is "wrong" and in pointed out to inspector. Who then tells owner until this is fixed he can not take a Section 8 tenant. Mean time owner is still checking background (Credit) and references of others. When owner finds one he is OK with he fixes the thing and lets the one he wanted to move in. When a mob of people who have been living rent free finally get pried out of their place and suddenly find no one will rent to them? They will scream like stuck pigs. Law makers will be in a bind since a LOT of people who give them the big money will also not be willing to let the pigs move in their places. So law makers will have to do what they do best. Blame Trump and actually do nothing. Meanwhile a lot of people who had so much fun living rent free are going to get an education on how fun it is to find a rental with credit in the toilet. It will be good for some of the "slum lords". They will be able to raise the price of crap holes since there will be a lot of people who need a place. It will also be great for a lot of people who supported this "free everything" who had some kind of rental property and just got a real good screwing by the people they have been voting for all these years. Maybe a few of them will think about who they get in bed with now that they got a good taste of being done over .

Unfortunately I don't think this is something we can vote our way out of.
I'm still betting the only way we stop being screwed is when bodies are swinging from trees on state capitol grounds.
It's beyond just voting for the better option.

Sadly as tempting as other ideas are they are just never going to happen any more. This great hoax showed the vast majority no longer are willing to lift a finger for their rights. The only hope is to start getting people to vote well. The people with cute bumper stickers about rights lined up and watch this happen and did nothing but go along. They are not going to fight any other way other than voting. If a few do try to fight they will be stomped on and used as advertisement. The vast majority have decided they are fine with loss of rights as long as they feel they are taken care of. So all we can do is get them to vote better. If some law makers start to lose that job that gives them power they will do a 180 VERY fast. Only thing they really fear is the loss of that job.

I just read the governor ended testing for reading and math proficiency to be able to graduate highschool.

They have to be doing this all on purpose to destroy the state right?

Yeah but you should see the reduced tax rate now that policing and education have been curtailed.

Any one think this was all part of the plan all along? Think about it, there is a major housing shortage, along with plenty of apartments/rentals that are far above the income levels of many, so, force their low cost/rent control legislation while driving property owners out, swooping in with state sponsored "Investors" to take over management, thereby getting their low cost housing plans with out the cooperation of the landlords/property owners!

While there are a metric sh!tload of actual slums that pass as rentals in Oregon that should be mowed down, it's the regular Joe property owner who is getting screwed the most no matter what! I don't feel one bit for the large property/complex owners, they are the biggest scam artists around, and if this drives a bunch of them under, I don't see a downside, let them eat cake!

The state wants in on the landlord business and is using our taxes to accomplish this goal. The expense doesn't matter because not nearly enough folks are paying attention. The end justifying these means is a massive amount of power and influence.

Sadly most pay little attention to what happens, so it happens again. Student loans ring any bells? One POTUS while back decided "we will take over now" and used it to pretend he was not raising the debt. Problem was many were getting loans at a fraction of what the Gov now wanted to handle these loans. Reason is you sign up saying you understand you can not, for life, walk away from these loans. Then of course years later the same party is screaming about the people they had fun soaking for money in interest. The bartender from NY even made a fool out of herself on live TV when one of the big banking people was being grilled about this. He told her you guys took this over a LONG time ago, we don't do it any more because you decided you wanted it all. She of course brushed off his showing how ignorant she is as if nothing happened.
When Gov controls the rent game we will get to see it all over again. :s0092:
