"Forget 2012. As far as many Mexicans are concerned, the ancient Mayas were being generous: the sky's actually going to fall next year. Why? Because it's 2010, Mexico's bicentennial, and Mexican history has an eerie way of repeating itself. Mexico's 1910 centennial, after all, saw the start of the bloody, decade-long Mexican Revolution, which killed more than a million people. And that cataclysm was precisely a century after the start of Mexico's bloody, decade-long War of Independence in 1810.

You get the picture. As a result, there's been no shortage of talk lately about possible unrest, especially in the form of armed rebel groups, erupting south of the border in 2010. But is there really a basis for concern? None as apparent as the popular grievances that existed in 1809 or 1909. But this is still Mexico; and while Spanish colonizers no longer oppress the country, and dictators like Porfirio Diaz aren't brutalizing campesinos, the country nonetheless is reeling from the worst criminal violence in its history and one of its hardest economic slumps. "We are very near a social crisis," JosÉ Narro, the director of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in Mexico City, said recently. "The conditions are there.""

"Aside from inflated drug and guerrilla violence, another specter is unrest resulting from Mexico's deflated economy. Given its enormous reliance on the U.S. market - and on remittances from Mexican workers there, which have declined sharply this year - the global recession has hit Mexico especially hard. Its GDP, in fact, will contract more than 5% in 2009, exacerbating unemployment as well as Mexico's chronic poverty. A report this year by the Colegio de Mexico, one of the country's top universities, warned, "A national social explosion is knocking at the door." Said top Roman Catholic Bishop Gustavo Rodriguez, "We cannot separate the economic crisis from the violence and criminal crisis that we live day by day."

Just a way of driving more of them here to live on our social assistance. Something we really don't need with so many Americans allready unemployed. Yet they still won't stop them from taking American jobs.

Wait till the violence spills over the border and they want to take our guns because of it.

They already bring way to much violence, gangs etc. Calif and Ariz already have more than they can handle. If those people start spilling over the borders in desperation, it's full on trouble.

:D:D How seriouse could it be if they are not willing to send troops to the border?:s0112:

Really though we have had 25 Americans killed every day by illegals. 12 by murder and 13 by drunken driving(9125 a year). More American deaths than what sent us to the middle east for war. We have been living with this for years and our government does nothing. If they kill each other in Mexico then we are better off because of it. Just my opinion.

But, if the Mexican system (government and economy) collapses this year or next, hoards of hungry people will pour over our border as we've never seen. It will be the biggest crime wave we've ever had in this country.

They won't have to sneak through the desert. They'll just mob the main roads at National City (S of San Diego,) and Nogales, etc.

It truly could be coming. Even the news media in Mexico agrees that Mexico is on the verge of collapse.

They have done nothing so far to stop the flood but then nobody in Washington is listening.

Actually there have been those that have tried to stop the illegal tide of aliens...... Minutemen! and to recognize their efforts........ they have been battered, chastised, arrested, targeted, harassed and tried in court........ there's your answer! Our Government will do nothing! and anyone else that stands their ground will be vilified!

So far the actual flood at the border looks like a trickle to the average person and much is done in secret in the desert. Will things change if they mob and crash our main urban entrances in numbers never seen before? Will things change if they spread out and start taking what they need for survival? I mean looting and rioting? I'm talking about suddenly hundreds of thousands of them all at once? Maybe that many every day?

But they haven't been desperate enough or determined enough to use armed force, have they?

For the record, I'm actually predicting a crash in Mexico that's very similar to the one in Venezuela in 2001, from which they haven't recovered. The difference is that Venezuela isn't on our border and they don't have the opportunity to crash our borders.

IMO, Klinton's NAFTA was the initial flush that started this and now we're all stuck swirlin in the bowl.

Clinton is a Bilderberger, a Senior DeMolay (Freemason), and a member of both the CFR and the Trilateral Commission. That's your one-world government elites. It benefits their agenda to have open trade and open borders.

The question is, will the People ever do anything about it, especially if slapped in the face with a crash in Mexico followed by a crashing of our borders?

I have the feeling that with all the anger in the US right that this could really be a tipping point. You already have people p***ed off at the gov't for their incompitence and lack of listening to us and then you throw in thousands upon thousands of Mexicans coming across the border, looting and killing... I think it would spark warfare on American soil like we've never seen before.

What would this do to California? They too are on a tipping point financially already. How would their citizens (and government) deal with such a new crisis?

As I understand it, states are now being told that they have no right to butt into immigration issues. ??

Yet more than 1/4 of students in California schools are illegal, and at least 1/2 of all inmates in their prisons are illegals. What if it "really" gets bad, LOL?
