I have zero.

I have been ignored by a few left-of-center members here, and I have to wonder, how many people they ignore? It wouldn't surprise me if they've such a large ignore list that they have created an echo chamber of their own....

Realising this is just a sample size of "me" I believe those more to the right of center have larger ignore lists than those to the left. Don't disagree on the echo chamber thing though, just believe it's more of a "right of center" issue

Well, I'm right of center and I would never ignore other members. I like the practice.....

I have 0 but I am on at least two, maybe three lists?

Speaking only for myself here....

Many times the issue is ain't so much what is said / posted...but how it is said / posted.
Condescension and arrogance often go hand in hand with ignorance and a lack of respect for others.

A different viewpoint is fine and dandy...and if it works for you , then great.
However...once you start telling me I gotta do as you do....then it becomes problematic.

Mainly trolls go on my ignore list. I see one side of conversations arguing with the same rx-79 or whatever guy go on for like 6-10 pages. I don't know why people keep feeding trolls. Some people just thrive on pushing other peoples buttons to get mental stimulation. That crap is just not for me I guess.

My verbal and keyboard filters don't stop much these days, so using the ignore feature is the only way I can keep myself sane(and off of the naughty list.)

Something to consider in regards to trolls...

If you continue to engage / feed / "discuss" with them...then they are in a sense controlling you and your time here.
Interesting that controlling has troll in it....:D

Also at the end of the day...does that thread , post or those comments , really matter...?
Will they drastically or radically affect you or your life... If not...then it might be wise to simply say "So What."* to trolls.

Granted that can be difficult...which in turn goes back to controlling.....

*Edit to add...
I may just say Fascinating...Kinda like Spock to trolls.... :D

Wait… are you using some reverse psychological trolling using the 'ol, "I'm rubber and you're glue, whatever you say bounces off me and sticks to you" technique?

Next thing you know you'll be TRIPLE- dog daring us to not feed the trolls and ignore them like we're adults…. or something.

Nothing to do with hurt feelings everything to do with not wanting to waste my time with utter stupidity ....

This. Participating in forums over the years has taught me a few things about human nature, and I've changed and mellowed as a person. I don't get worked up nearly so easily as I used to. I also don't participate as much as I used to.

People are people- good, bad, and ugly. There are nice folks as well as arrogant, opinionated jerks in all walks of life, of every political party, ideology and religion in the world. Arguing with someone rarely does anyone any good, especially if it's someone who just likes to argue.
I've also come to realize that very few people in this world really care what I think, so I try to limit my participation to things where I have some useful input or perspective.

I have a dozen or so on my ignore list, and I don't apologize for that. The few on my list are those I don't care to have anything to do with. Ignore is just a convenient feature that makes things a little more pleasant here. A few times I've noticed a gap in a thread and logged out to see what I missed. Every time I've done that I've found that I didn't miss anything meaningful in any way, just a waste of time.

I'm not particularly "thin-skinned", but some of you all have really hurt my feelings with your mean comments about how morally superior you are because you don't use ignore. I'm currently crying a little as I type, from the emotional pain. I've filled out a "Hurt Feelings" report form and submitted it to moderators (and my mommy), so watch out for that, you big meanies and bullies!
