I love my .40s (though I usually carry a 1911 in .45 because this is America after all).

Never had a reason to wear a skirt or carry a poodle shooter but I hear from a lot of those folks on here that their 9mm kraut fountains "can get the job done."

Guess they never heard of WWII.
"Poodle shooter". You just made my Christmas card list. :s0113:

We as gunowners need to be prepped to survive any caliber shortage.
I only have two guns that shoot .40 S&W (I actually like it), a couple or more in 9mm, some in .45acp, some .357mag, more than one .38 Special, multiple .44 Mag, some .380s, 9mm Mak, 7.62x25, 7.62x38R, .32acp, .25acp, and of course several .22lr. I don't own a .41 Magnum, just don't feel the need to have one of everything. :)

Added: I forgot about .45 Colt. Can't forget about .45 Colt! That's one of my (many) favorites!

9 bois like soy lattes
40 dudes like their whisky neat
45 gents smoke Chesterfields
10mm fans drink ghost pepper vodka
5.7 afficianodos drive Porches
And revolver guys see them all as children going for that newfangled stuff

As far as semi autos, I'd pick 9mm for capacity, .45 for suppressed, and full-house 10mm for power. .40 is just too much of a compromise round for me to be happy with. 7.62x25 would be nice, if there was a modern pistol for it. Big grip but a double stack of those would be nasty.

A buddy of mine just picked up a Sig P226 in .40 today so I think the dying round idea is a bunch of hype. My compact carry is an EMP in .40 but my not so compact carry is a Ruger 1911 in 10mm. Every caliber is a trade off. I would carry a 4" .357 with 125gr JHP's if it weren't for the bulk.

I have 1500 rnds I humped up here from California when you could buy 1000 reloads at gun show for under $100. So I still shoot my G27 occasionally. Had to sell my G23 but looking to find another since 9mm is expensive right now.

On a positive note, however, I'm guessing it's a little easier to find .40 now than it is 9mm. That's just a guess though.

Remember...life is too short to carry ugly guns. So that means Glocks and anything in .40 cal. :s0140:

Nope, not at all. All the cool kids use 9mm now. The few remaining .40 users are fair game for mockery and ridicule...

So true!!

The common typical 40 user...

Caliber debates are pointless. Silly,,, I use handgun caliber. It puts holes in things. It doesn't knock people off there feet like in the movies. Just pokes holes like all handgun calibers.

In my home.. or when I am away I do not fear that my weapon won't help protect me. I know I can put rounds on target under stress..poke holes in bad guys.. I just pray I don't get attacked by a bear! Oh no!

Get a 9mm barrel and mags for your G23. I did, with 100% reliability.
