It just never effing stops!

This is absolutely a coordinated effort. They have is outfunded and outnumbered. While we go to our jobs to pay our bills they recruit students and housewives to pressure politicians to submit this trash. The hope is that we run out cash and energy to fight this unconstitutional BS. They know that 80% of it is immediately throwaway legislation and it costs them almost nothing to get the train rolling. If they toss 20 against the wall and 1 sticks, it's still a win for their side. Rinse and repeat next year.

They really like that $6250 fine. Noticed it in quite a bit of their bills.

Said it before, throw a ton of bills into a industrial fan and see what sticks is their strategy.

If anyone knows a FRIENDLY legislator, it would be helpful for them to try to put on every gun bill, something like: "The provisions and restrictions in this legislation shall apply also to the security staff assigned to all Oregon legislators and gubernatorial staff, while on duty, whether privately employed or sworn officers". Try to make a big deal about "one rule for you, another rule for us". Hopefully they vote on it and we make public their vote.

The scales have tipped, the tyrannical politicians in Salem and the radical religious Anti-Gunner types in Portland aren't going to listen to anything we have to say.

They will listen to the count of pro/con communications from their aides who count the phone calls and emails. The count has to mean more than another thousand bucks from Bloomberg.

There are dozens of good arguments against these silly laws. One of the best is just quoting surveys of massive numbers of police.

Police officers overwhelmingly say it is more important to protect the rights of Americans to own guns than it is to control gun ownership (74% of officers vs. 53% of the public). (Pew Social Trends, January 2017)

When companies like Gallup survey Americans, they poll 1000-2000 people and extrapolate. These two polls were 20,000 and 16,000 cops respectively. That is so much more representative of a million cops than Gallup polls are of 300 Million Americans. So the confidence level is huge.
The National Association of Chiefs of Police polled 20,000 sheriffs and police officers. 76% say that armed citizens help law enforcement reduce violent crime. They are more pro-gun than the general public. This links to their survey results:

PoliceOne, an organization of about 380,000 active and 70,000 retired officers, surveyed 16,000 members on the gun control in 2013.
71% say a ban on so-called "assault weapons" would have no effect on violent crime.
20% say it would make crime worse. This is a link to their results

These are the experts. These are the guys I believe.

It is not hard to
1: verify what I posted by looking for yourself, and
2: download the email addresses of your state legislators and local newspapers and
3: rewrite in your own words and hammer them with this data

I can post more stuff, and already have. Look under dancinghippos. Lots of material for posts on newspaper sites and letters to legislators. They have to see massive numbers though. ONE clear speaking person can be ignored. A thousand, not so much.

The life you save may be your own. Get to it.

If this BS passes we should all go to the person or group who came up with it and tell them to buy them or kiss our a$$ or just kiss our a$$

Actually, if it passes you should form up in groups of at least 11+ (Because they'll only have 10rnds, right?) and visit them where they live and MAKE them kiss your a$$e$.... it'll take the cops 8-10 minutes to show up anyway.... pucker up you progressive BEATCHES, IT'S COMING!!

This post seems all to easy to read and interpret in a way that embarrasses the team. The left are better at propaganda than 2A people, and they control the news media.

Much more effective is reaching out to natural allies, i.e. anyone whose faith or lifestyle has been persecuted in recent history. There are bunches of gay/lesbian people who are arming up due to harassment in Portland bars and streets. They should be invited to join the March 23rd demonstration.

I certainly hope this onslaught of legislation aimed at limiting civil rights has caught the attention of the mainstream gunowner in Oregon and they make the pilgrimage to Salem on the 23rd...

A show of force and solidarity is needed. Anything less and you already know the restrictions the socialist democrats are after...

It will also help to donate to the people organizing the March 23rd rally

You're free to interpret whatever you like, however you like.

As for gay bashing in PDX bars and streets? Meh, I don't believe it as PDX is so "rainbow" these days, it's actually easier to be harassed for NOT being gay.

Smollet's fraud is a fraud. That does not mean this no longer happens.

What is important, IMO, is that THEY believe it. A close friend who is part of that community has forwarded me text between their friends who are reporting on events and people who have threatened or caused them harm. They are also talking about training in martial arts and guns. That makes them natural allies. There is nearly nobody in the country whose race or lifestyle or religion or lack of religion was not the target of persecution over the last hundred years. "It can't happen here" was a statement made often by German Jews between 1910 and 1920.

With respect to my original statement, people who monitor these sites will use whatever they can to make gun owners look like the problem, because it is politically easier to blame guns rather than criminals.

Not all of faith are anti-gun.
In fact reading how many times God helped his people conquer their enemies in the Bible I don't understand how anyone who actually reads their Bible's could be anti-gun.
Agreed, it's only the radical religious left in Portland that wants to take away my ability to protect myself and my family in the name of God.

Lets stay away from the Left or Right tags. Their either pro 2A or Anti-gunner/Anti-2A.

These Left or Right tags are tribal dog whistles at best and fail to fully represent who or what exactly we're fighting against.

On that topic, the religious left should read their bibles in, for example:
1 Samuel 13:19
"Now there was no blacksmith to be found throughout all the land of Israel, for the Philistines said, "Lest the Hebrews make themselves swords or spears."

They should also cease hackneying "Thou shalt not kill".
The Hebrew translates to English "NO MURDER".
