Rodger Waters is doing The Wall at the Tacoma dome in June I think - I caught it a couple years ago in Portland and is by far my favorite show to date.

I highly recommend getting seats - it's designed so the better seats are Half way back.

I super torn between trying to go and just leaving it as the best show ever or going and maybe having my expectations ruined a little (which has happened at other shows).

Sometimes it would be easier if I only liked one kind of music and then i could say this or that is my favorite whatever's but even with all of my diversity I can still say The Wall is one of a handful of favorites - easily;)

We saw the WALL at the Tacoma DOme. Well more accurately we say a couple of army wives butts who stood the whole time holding their stupid cell phones up. My wife who had not had both Knees replaced yet couldn't stand for more then a few min at a time. Pretty much missed the show.

I seriously doubt I will ever go see another concert it seams like every one we do either some yahoo ruins it for us or in the case of everything I have ever heard in the Cement Bath tub they call the Moda center the sound is horrible.

I have mint vinyl of all the music I like (2600 LPS) and a $1800.00 turntable with the Vintage Stereo system to back it up. My Living room is just fine.

As to the comment listening to the WALL 100 times I concur.

By the way one of my 4 copies of THE WALL is the CBS half speed Master pressing and its frecking amazing.

Ya gotta get 1st row seats on a floor other then floor level... butt that sucks (too early for that one maybe).

I was pretty jaded and while I don't have your investment I just prefer to be home.

I just took getting drug to a really good one to change my mind.

If I could only repeat one of them it would be The Wall but I'd miss a bunch of good times.

If you like Waters, and the Wall, you owe it to yourself to look for the televised concert on the AXS channel. Hopefully you can find it in viewable form.
Absolutely amazing
Just google Roger Waters wall axs reel to reel

John Hiatt has some of the most itneresting lyrics I think...

From Ethylene:

"Now some men will drive to the edges of nothing
So they can take a peek at the great abyss
Some men avoid love like it was a plague or something
So they can leave the seat down when they piss
I miss that crocheted thing you kept on the kleenex box
I miss my feet on your cold linoleum floor
Sipping hot coffee after making love til daybreak
Ethylene a fool would ask for more"

From Memphis in the Meantime:

"And after we get good and greasy Baby we can come on home Put the cow horns back on the Cadillac And change the message on the Cordaphone"

Who remembers the Codaphone?

And From the Eagles Paradise:

"Some rich man came and raped the land, nobody caught 'em,
Put up a bunch of ugly boxes and, Jesus, people bought 'em"

"And you can see them there on Sunday morning
Stand up and sing about what it's like up there
They called it paradise, I don't know why
You call some place paradise, kiss it goodbye"

OK if you guys are gona get all deep?

Normally I avoid music that feed's self pity. But when I need something to draw out the poison. I turn to songs like this.

This Rory Gallagher song sums it up pretty well.
Not to bad a guitar player either.

The lyrics are in the video.
Basically it's about being alone in a place full of people enjoying life. Knowing these feelings are temporary.
And expressing what it feels like to be stuck there.

[Or maybe it means something completely different to you. That's the beauty of music.] ;)

Chrissy -
I went back to Ohio
But my pretty countryside
Had been paved down the middle
By a government that had no pride
The farms of Ohio
Had been replaced by shopping malls
And Muzak filled the air
From Seneca to Cuyahoga falls
Said, a, o, oh way to go Ohio

My City Was Gone lyrics © Sony/ATV Music Publishing LLC

Stood still on a highway
I saw a woman
By the side of the road
With a face that I knew like my own
Reflected in my window
Well she walked up to my quarterlight
And she bent down real slow
A fearful pressure paralysed me in my shadow
She said 'son what are you doing here
My fear for you has turned me in my grave'
I said 'mama I come to the valley of the rich
Myself to sell'
She said 'son this is the road to hell'

On your journey cross the wilderness
From the desert to the well
You have strayed upon the motorway to hell

Well I'm standing by the river
But the water doesn't flow
It boils with every poison you can think of
And I'm underneath the streetlight
But the light of joy I know
Scared beyond belief way down in the shadows
And the perverted fear of violence
Chokes the smile on every face
And common sense is ringing out the bell
This ain't no technological breakdown
Oh no, this is the road to hell

And all the roads jam up with credit
And there's nothing you can do
It's all just bits of paper flying away from you
Oh look out world, take a good look
What comes down here
You must learn this lesson fast and learn it well
This ain't no upwardly mobile freeway
Oh no, this is the road
Said this is the road
This is the road to hell

When the dark wood fell before me
And all the paths were overgrown
When the priests of pride say there is no other way
I tilled the sorrows of stone

I did not believe because I could not see
Though you came to me in the night
When the dawn seemed forever lost
You showed me your love in the light of the stars

Cast your eyes on the ocean
Cast your soul to the sea
When the dark night seems endless
Please remember me

Then the mountain rose before me
By the deep well of desire
From the fountain of forgiveness
Beyond the ice and fire

Cast your eyes on the ocean
Cast your soul to the sea
When the dark night seems endless
Please remember me

Though we share this humble path, alone
How fragile is the heart
Oh give these clay feet wings to fly
To touch the face of the stars

Breathe life into this feeble heart
Lift this mortal veil of fear
Take these crumbled hopes, etched with tears
We'll rise above these earthly cares

Cast your eyes on the ocean
Cast your soul to the sea
When the dark night seems endless
Please remember me
Please remember me

There's another world inside of me that you may never see
There's secrets in this life that I can't hide
But somewhere in this darkness
There's a light that I can't find
Well maybe it's too far away, yeah
Or maybe I'm just blind
Or maybe I'm just blind

Everything I am and everything in me
Wants to be the one you wanted me to be
I'd never let you down
So hold me when I'm here
Right me when I'm wrong
You can hold when I'm scared
You won't always be there
Even if I could
I'd give up everything
If only for your good

When your execution x-ray
Cannot see under my skin
I won't tell you a damn thing
That I could not tell me friends
Roaming through this darkness
I'm alive but I'm alone
And part of me is fighting this
But part of me is gone

So hold me when I'm here
Right me when I'm wrong
Hold me when I'm scared
And love me when I'm gone
Everything I am and everything in me
Wants to be the one you wanted me to be
I'd never let you down
Even if I could
I'd give up everything
If only for your good
So hold me when I'm here
Right me when I'm wrong
You can hold me when I'm scared
You won't always be there
So love me when I'm gone

East bound and down..
Loaded up and truckin'...
We're gonna do what they say can't be done...
We've got a long way to go and short time to get there...
I'm East bound , just watch Ol' "Bandit" run ...

East bound and down ...
by Jerry Reed

Haha every time this song comes on pandora and I'm driving I usually end up speeding.

"Oh Lord, it's hard to be humble,
When your perfect in every way!"

That song is golden if you've never heard it - the artist slips my drug induced comma like symptoms, just google it;).

Grew up hearing that song, no wonder I'm a narcissistic person:D

Baby take off your coat...realllllll slowwwww.....

You can leave your hat on.

There are a couple of versions of this song. Randy Newman. Joe Cocker.

The video is from the movie 9 1/2 Weeks and is, um, Kim Basinger stripping. U-tuby.

I think I shared it, oh, we don't talk about that.

Like many, hear certain things and get pop culture or music references.

I want my M-TV.

Exit: light

Sinnerman - Nina Simone
Where you gonna run to?
All on that day

Lyrics
Oh, sinnerman, where you gonna run to?
Sinnerman where you gonna run to?
Where you gonna run to?
All on that day
We got to run to the rock
Please hide me, I run to the rock
Please hide me, run to the rock
Please hide here
All on that day
But the rock cried out
I can't hide you, the rock cried out
I can't hide you, the rock cried out
I ain't gonna hide you there
All on that day
I said rock
What's the matter with you rock?
Don't you see I need you, rock?
Good Lord, Lord
All on that day
So I run to the river
It was bleedin', I run to the sea
It was bleedin', I run to the sea
It was bleedin', all on that day
So I run to the river
It was boilin', I run to the sea
It was boilin', I run to the sea
It was boilin', all on that day

So I run to the Lord
Please hide me, Lord
Don't you see me prayin'?
Don't you see me down here prayin'?
But the Lord said
Go to the Devil, the Lord said
Go to the Devil
He said go to the Devil
All on that day
So I ran to the Devil
He was waitin', I ran to the Devil
He was waitin', ran to the Devil
He was waitin', all on that day
I cried, power, power (power, Lord)
Power (power, Lord)
Power (power, Lord)
Power (power, Lord)
Power (power, Lord)
Power (power, Lord)
Power (power, Lord)
Kingdom (power, Lord)
Kingdom (power, Lord)
Kingdom (power, Lord)
Kingdom (power, Lord)
Power (power, Lord)
Power (power, Lord)
Power (power, Lord)
Power (power, Lord)
Power (power, Lord)
Power (power, Lord)
Power (power, Lord)
Power (power, Lord)
Power (power, Lord)
Power (power, Lord)
Power (power, Lord)
Power (power, Lord)

Oh yeah
Oh yeah
Oh yeah
Well, I run to the river
It was boilin', I run to the sea
It was boilin', I run to the sea
It was boilin', all on that day
So I ran to the Lord
I said Lord, hide me
Please hide me
Please help me, all on that day
He said, hide?
Where were you?
When you oughta have been prayin'
I said Lord, Lord
Hear me prayin', Lord, Lord
Hear me prayin', Lord, Lord
Hear me prayin', all on that day
Sinnerman, you oughta be prayin'
Outghta be prayin', sinnerman
Oughta be prayin', all on that day

Up come power (power, Lord)
Power (power, Lord)
Power (power, Lord)
Power (power, Lord)
Power (power, Lord)
Power (power, Lord)
Power (power, Lord)
Power (power, Lord)
Power (power, Lord)
Power (power, Lord)
Power (power, Lord)
Power (power, Lord)
(Power, Lord)
Hold down (power, Lord)
Go down (power, Lord)
Kingdom (power, Lord)
Power (power, Lord)
Power (power, Lord)
Power (power, Lord)
Na-na-na, na-na-na-na
Na-na-na, na-na-na-na
Na-na-na, na-na-na-na

Woah, ho
Ha-ha-ha-ha
Ha-ha-ha-ha, oh Lord
Nu, nu, nu
No-no-no-no, ma-na-na-na-na, don't you know I need you Lord?
Don't you know that I need you?
Don't you know that I need you?

Oh, Lord
Wait
Oh, Lord
Oh, Lord, Lord

Green Back Boogie - Ima Robot - AKA Theme to Suits. The music video, is different. U-Tuby.
See the money wanna stay, for your meal
Get another piece of pie, for your wife
Everybody wanna know, how it feel
Everybody wanna see, what it's like
Baby wanna be a queen, well alright
We all deserve the finer things, in this life

Yeah! I'll step back, while you go dance
The greenback boogie
M* f* boogie

The video reminds me of a screen saver from the company After Dark.
That one showed references to masturbation, like spanking the monkey.
This one has scenes like a Storm Trooper peeing, Hitler, Marilyn Monroe, sex, zombies, spider man. It's different.

Home, home again, I like to be here when I can. When I come home cold and tired, it's good to warm my bones beside the fire-far away across the field, the tolling of the iron bell calls the faithful to their knees, to hear the softly spoken magic spell.

That's just one......
