I was driving home from work recently and I was about 40 minutes into my commute home which normally takes 60 minutes. It was raining and starting to get dark so I turned on my headlights, hit my left hand turn signal and waited at the light to get onto the on ramp to the highway for the final 15 minutes of my commute.

As the light changed I proceeded left onto the on ramp and what did I see? That's right, I saw another driver coming down the on ramp. I looked in amazement because as he passed me, he flipped me off, which caused me to laugh. I would have thought my first reaction would have been to get mad...not so. Just the sheer audacity of that guy driving the wrong way down the on ramp then flipping me off was hilarious.

Anyway, back to my point. When I'm driving and let someone else in and don't get the thumbs up or wave or some sign of thank you it irritates me.

Ok, here's your chance to vent your spleen & get it off your chest:
What's your Pet Peeve?
People in Oregon who drive like they are hauling nitroglycerin. You really don't have to slow down to 5 mph on a 55 mph highway to make a right turn into a driveway or onto a side street. You really don't have to slow own to 15 mph because you plan to make a right turn 1/2 mile up the road. Off ramps are for deceleration, not the right lane on the freeway. Likewise, on ramps are for acceleration. Don't be trying to merge with 70 mph traffic at 35 mph at the end of the on ramp.

(Some) Cyclists really piss me off. Had one ignore a stop sign downtown and then get pissed at me. He punched my side mirror hard enough to lock it in the forward position (didn't know it could even do that). I was very surprised it didn't break. He was lucky that the street we were on was all downhill. I chased him for a several minutes but he of course just ran through all the lights and was hauling bubblegum. I think I chased him all the way to his apartment complex because he disappeared as soon as I pulled in. I'm pretty sure he pissed his pants.
I had one slap the hood of my Mercedes SUV (civil assault) at a traffic light. Then he ran and hid for 10 minutes. I hunted him down and caught him at a red light. Stared daggers at him until the light turned green then chased him all the way home. I'm sure he pissed his pants.

When someone is driving 5 under the speed limit, in the passing lane and not using the turn signals :mad::mad::mad:

People who give you the "evil eye" for blocking "their" way on the road because their family is using the street, with no shoulder, as their personal parking lot. Literally, no cars in the garage, driveway, or next to driveway but three parked on the road. Yet I am the bad one for driving on the wrong side of the road and keeping her from driving her kid to school.

While I have many Pet Peeves; I'd have to say ONE of my Biggest is people who can't be bothered to use Turn Signals when they are driving. I have NO idea how many accidents this had caused but I'm VERY sure it's an Incredible Number and NOT a small one.

To go along with that......

People that not only think but try to convince everyone around them that their kids are better than any other kids.

No. They're not. I don't care how great you think little Johnny is, while you aren't paying attention he's looking at internet porn and doing his homework via Google just like the rest of them.

This ^^^. I don't know about accidents, but for sure thousands of hours of people's precious personal time is wasted in this country by people that don't follow basic rules of the road.

I'll add another one that wastes time. I'm a courteous driver. I'm also wanting to get where I'm going in an efficient manner. I will never dawdle when there are people behind me, because I'm a courteous driver. I will always go the posted limit or just a bit over, as long as it's safe to do so. Basic rule and all that.

To the point of my "Peeve"...90% of the time I will take the high road and yield to people on side roads where one must pull over to allow another car to pass because of parked cars on both sides. I will come to a complete stop FIRST at uncontrolled intersections that have no stop signs before the approaching car is at the intersection. What makes me want to SCREEM, (I do sometimes too), is when I'm already pulled over to let the car pass, or all ready stopped at the uncontrolled intersection, and the oncoming car pulls over, 100 yards away, to wait for me to go! Or the car at the uncontrolled intersection stops too and waits for me to go.   I have to wonder what these jack-wads are thinking? Do they think they are more courteous than me? Are they trying to be the most courteous? They can't possibly be more courteous than me, because I am the most courteous driver! At the intersection there have been times I absolutely refuse to go. Yesir! I'm going to sit right here and wait for that driver to go.

The seemingly endless amounts of tactical this and that in regards to shooting and firearms...
I miss the days when one could own a firearm and shoot , just for the fun of it.

Granted I shoot , just for fun...having had my fill of tactical this and that while in the Army and four combat tours....
So maybe its not a peeve so much as an observation of others....

And as always...
Shoot what and how you want....as long as you shoot safely.
Please note that just because I don't like something , that does not mean that I am not wanting others to enjoy it , own it , use it , etc...it just means that I don't like it.

I think I know who you are talking about. The time they gave me the evil eye they almost got a single digit salute in return. However, you and our daughter where on board, so I behaved. :p

You and me both. I almost wince when seeing the "tactical" talk.

Members that include the word "Rare" with every firearm for sale ad they post, especially so when it's a model 94 30/30.
Winchester has made over 7,000,000 of them in various calibers and configurations.

Uptalk or Upspeak. It used to be confined to silly California-bred teenage girls. Then it spread to those who listen to too way much NPR. Now it is infectious. Hearing it from a man is most unbecoming.

The (very short) youtube video below will illustrate what I mean.

So no sale ads like these then :

I have one of those rare guns...its a AR15 by WizBang Shoot'em a Bunch Corp....?

It shoots those copper jacketed bullets...and since copper is so expensive , the gun has gotta be worth more.

Oh yeah I also added a scope ...when you put the lens covers on...the scope doubles as a night vision optic.

I used it for some drills at the Ted. E. Tactical Training Camp at site Whiskey Tango Foxtrot .

It does comes with authentic battle damage after I dropped it and used the wrong size screw driver.

Round count is a bunch....and I only cleaned it once....'cause ya know in combat , your weapon has gotta function if it gets dirty...?
Insert best Foghorn Leghorn voice here : " I say that's a joke son...." :D
