Oh man, don't get me started on the TSA. Literally, every god damn flight I've taken since 9/11, I've been taken aside for extra scrutiny; from mild annoyance, to outright harassment and illegal interrogation. I have a clean criminal record, clean driving record, and not so much as a parking ticket on file. I've never been a member of an extremist group of any kind, nor hold any sympathy for terrorists and their ilk. And, yet, here we are. I have a hypothesis, but because it is only that, I'll keep it to myself for the moment.

Too many people are of the mindset that they can somehow "save" them. This goes for both men and women, with women being in the majority

Perhaps when "toxic masculinity/rape culture" is discussed, these sorts of individuals are exactly who they're talking about ?

The objectification and disrespect of womens rights/abilities/personhood goes far far far far back into history; and in recent times especially... I have to say it is as much a cultural problem as it is a pyschological problem. (Nature versus nurture sort of thing)

People who have never been taught that respect is given to others; that trust is earned, that boundaries exists for reasons, that right and wrongs have to be taught, and it has to follow a cultural set of rules (who makes that? Usually religions.....) tends to be the most entitled people around.

On the other hand, teaching boys that girls will always be a lower level, teaching them that girls and women exists to serve men and only for making babies or satisfying men, nothing else.. is also not a good thing, IMO. It has taken a long time to get to the point where women have on paper the same rights as men (political issues otherwise); and yet there's still a subset of people who absolutely believe that women don't deserve the same rights.

I was taught that women/girls needed to give me permission to talk to them, or to take things further.

The whole incel thing seems to have come up after a recent blog series by a particulary loathsome blogger who claims to now live in Japan, where its still socially taught that women are subordinate to men... I don't rightly remember his nickname but I believe he started the term of "Mr. Nice Guy"/named the stereotype of guys who feels entitled to sexual favors/compensation if they treated girls/women "nicely".

I swear I got stopped and pulled aside each time I flew the last couple simply because I wore my OD green veterans hat. One time had to empty the contents of my duffle bag with the unit designation etc painted on the bottom simply because I had a already opened thing of pit stick since I decided to grab a shower pre flight. I also feel tons of eyes on me too the entire time I have to walk thru, dunno what it is about the hat but man it seems to throw flags for some.

The one time being a vet worked in my favor was going home for RnR, got to bypass a line for showing my MIL ID. Good people imo.

Incel is just a label put on the guy in his moms basement that can't understand how to interact well with society in general, they are also referred to as neck beards and have evolved into groups online to support each other and share their misery. They tend to be far far right leaning, they tend to view women as things they can't have instead of as people they need to interact with. Some have moved on to become proud boys and others of that ilk. When I was younger they would've been the dungeons and dragons crowd, still in the basement just not as inter connected. They probably skipped athletics all together, tend to be socially awkward, dependent on others for food and housing. Theater tried to search my girlfriend at the time's purse once. We got a refund and moved the money we budgeted to go there a few times a month somewhere else.

Jump thru hoops getting into the theater.

Get to concession stand and fill out my 4473 and purchase some snacks and beverages.

Notice this clerk has riot gear on as well and keeps mumbling something into the mic on his shoulder as I am buying my food.

"Ok that'll be $65 total, we also had to run another background check on you again."

Pay the clerk and proceed to the roped off area to be wanded and present my information. Looks like typical TSA style.

"Please present your movie pass sir"

I hand the guard my pass and he radios for an escort to my described screen room.

4 Armed private security come rolling up on segways each looks like its ready to bottom out from the overweight lunch backs on duty.

Finally get seated in our correct rows after being read the company policy and their privacy policy.

Movie begins

Notice periodically through the film that said armed guards will patrol down the isles back and forth.

ACTION SCENE IN MOVIE

All guards draw their weapons and begin frantically pointing and sweeping the audience and their fellow guard.

Movie is stopped and everyone is told to file out of the theater one at a time.

I get a call from the ATF inquiring about my recent movie experience.

I would respectfully but STRONGLY disagree.

Entitlement is NOT a trait of conservatism, which is correctly identified as being "of the right." These neo-facists use the vocabulary of conservatism to appear as such, but are no further right than their kissing cousins the socialist / communist crowd.
