For all of you FDE lovers out there like me
Recipie using RIT dye:
6 tsp tan
1 tsp pearl grey
1 tsp dark brown
1 qt water
Heat to 175 deg and dye for 2 minutes
I can't for the life of me understand why MagPul didn't already come up with this and the other popular colors in some sort of guide.
Um... <broken link removed> Why not just buy FDE?
Black likely won't take any color. OD might depending on the color. I'm thinking you may get it to turn in red or blue. But it will not be pretty. FDEs dye decently. Not nearly as good as sand does though. I dyed a set of FDE buis black a while back.Dumb question but say I all ready have an Black, FDE or OD green mag will it dye. Has any one done this yet.
Seems like Magpul got wise, if they want another color other than black. Dye it. Otherwise, all they truly need to make is a dyeable and black.MagPul has discontinued FDE for Gen 3 and above including AR-10 mags. I believe their direction moving forward with most new products is black and sand.
